Perfection Church and Ministry is a Christian faith based organization that was formed in 1970 in Kapchorwa district, Eastern Uganda to further and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. It has over 60 churches started without any foreign influence. A couple of high school students received the gospel and decided to spread all over Kapchorwa-Eastern Uganda. Apostle Banan Stephen is the overseer and he
is Chairman of the PCM organization. Currently, there are over 25,000 believers in the PCM ministry. Their primary area for ministry is Kapchorwa (Sebei region) occupied by over 200,000 people. However, they continue to reach out to spread the Gospel throughout the region and beyond. Ministers are being developed and occasionally sent to different countries such as India, Nigeria, Malawi, Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya etc. The PCM has been very successful in winning souls for Christ, fighting harmful traditional practices like Female Ge***al Mutilation, Teeth Pulling, Witchcraft and Polygamy. On top of spreading the Gospel, the PCM over the years have been trying to minister to the needs of the community. They have identified three most needy areas;
Adult Literacy, Health Education and Leadership Training. The PCM has graduated over 500 students. These are women who never had a chance to go to school, could not read, write or carry out business transactions. Very often, they have been cheated when they go to sell their products. The education is primarily focused on the women because they are marginalized and yet society depends on them to take care of children and help raise them up. Education is an important component in making sure that these women bring up a happy family. At this point, we feel Adult Literacy Education is having an impact and are seeing fruit. Our next hope is to set up a basic clinic in Kapchorwa town where such services as maternity, general care, investigative services and counseling among others are available. Leadership training is ongoing and we do hope for pastoral trainings through customized seminars, workshops and conferences.
