The masks are falling, and the rhetoric of arrogance is becoming a dangerous global trend. đŸŒđŸš©

When Donald Trump stands on a stage and claims that “Somalia is not even a country”, he is deploying the same dehumanizing language we know too well in the Great Lakes region. This is the same “bad-mouth diplomacy” echoed by President Paul Kagame when he dismisses the sovereignty of the DRC as a “mess” Rwanda must “carry on its back.”

Whether it is Trump falsely accusing Somalis of stealing billions, or Kagame portraying the DRC’s borders as mere “colonial accidents” that robbed Rwanda of land, the objective is identical: to delegitimize a neighbor in order to justify pressure, domination, or aggression.

Both leaders project a dangerous ego — the belief that they alone are “serious” leaders surrounded by so-called “failed states.”

❌ Trump says Somalia is not a country.
❌ Kagame implies the DRC is not a real state.

History teaches us that when a nation’s statehood is stripped away through words, its rights are soon violated through actions. Leadership that mistakes arrogance for strength does not bring stability — it breeds resentment, conflict, and regional insecurity.

No leader has the authority to decide which nations deserve dignity and which do not. Respect for sovereignty is not optional. It is the law.

GL_Dialogue: Denmark’s decision to reinforce Greenland — alongside similar military moves by other countries — does not happen in a vacuum. It is a reaction to repeated provocations and exaggerated statements by Donald Trump, which have turned rhetoric into strategic anxiety. History reminds us that when the eccentricities of powerful figures shape geopolitics, consequences can be tragic. As Victor Hugo suggests in Les MisĂ©rables, greatness often comes with troubling excesses — but leadership demands restraint. Dialogue must prevail over escalation.

GL_Dialogue condemns sweeping and insulting generalizations about entire peoples or nations. Such rhetoric—whether from leaders or amplified online—distorts facts and fuels division. The Great Lakes region needs responsibility and dialogue, not provocation or dehumanization.

Uganda's Muhoozi Kainerugaba's controversial comments branding Kenyans as 'cowards' ignited outrage, sparking fierce responses amidst heightened tensions.

‱ un Rwanda fondĂ© sur l’État de droit ;
‱ une sociĂ©tĂ© rĂ©conciliĂ©e avec elle-mĂȘme ;
‱ une dĂ©mocratie pluraliste respectueuse de toutes ses composantes ;
‱ la peur ;
‱ la rĂ©pression ;
‱ la manipulation de la mĂ©moire du gĂ©nocide ;
