When the numbers tell a story of fear, exclusion, and violence, something isn’t right.

This , we ask what it means to be at the heart of democracy.
Because a society is only as strong as how it treats its people.

Behind every statistic is a life -seeking safety, care, and dignity.
And at the heart of democracy, no one should be left out.

IDAHOBIT is a moment to understand, to listen, and to build spaces and systems which bind.

Because inclusion is not extra, it is actually the glue that binds society.

Self-care isn’t a break from "busyness" it’s what sustains it.

When we take care of ourselves, we show up with more clarity, energy, and intention.
We lead better. We connect better. We build stronger communities.

Rest. Boundaries. Joy.
These are not distractions; they are how we create more good days together.

Start small. Be intentional.
Because when we are well, our impact grows.

You deserve care too. 💚

I am allowed to have fun and enjoy my life, and I give myself permission to do so without worry or fear.
I deserve to experience happiness, joy, and peace.
I give myself permission to speak up. My ideas, thoughts, feelings, and voice matter now and will always matter.

Inspired by Mental Health America’s

Not every day feels light.
Some days creep on us, carrying weight we can’t always name.

This Mental Health Month, we are choosing gentleness.
A pause. A breath. A small introspection.

What does a good day look like for you?

Maybe it’s a moment of calm.
A laugh that surprises you.
A body that feels a little more like home.
A space where you are seen, and not questioned.

“Good” does not have to be loud or perfect.
Sometimes, it is simply manageable.
Sometimes, it is getting through.

In our community, good days are shaped by care,
the kind we give each other,
the kind we fight for,
the kind we are still learning to receive.

So, this month and beyond,
we move gently, together.
We listen. We hold space. We reach back for one another.

Because even in uncertain times,
more good days are possible.
And none of us should have to find them alone.

Today is International Le***an Visibility Day 🧡

This year, we centre health and wellbeing for everyone deserves safe, respectful, affirming and non-discriminatory care. Many le****ns face oversexualization in their quest for accessing health care services.

Visibility matters. It dismantles these harmful stereotypes and strengthens resolve in seeking quality healthcare.
You don’t have to identify as a le***an to stand in solidarity.

Le***an health is a right. Visibility is power.

With support from Digital Defenders Partnership (DDP), FEMA hosted a digital safety training to strengthen how we move and protect ourselves online.

We explored the threat modeling cycle like who might target us, what they would want, where we could vulnerable, and how we could anticipate harm before it happens.

We also learnt about a safeguarding culture, where safety is not personal work but collective care where we look out for each other, share responsibility, and strengthen trust in our digital spaces.

For gender-diverse persons, this is more than training, it is our shared safety, awareness, and resilience.

20/04/2026

“Le***an” is a word that has carried stigma, disinformation, misinformation and silence for far too long. But it is also a word of truth, of history, of community.

Reclaiming it, respecting it, and saying it out loud is part of what visibility means. It is an act of presence in a world that has often tried to erase or diminish it.

And visibility matters. Because visibility builds belonging and belonging builds safety.

To our sapphic siblings, we say clearly, we are one big family, we love you and we see you!

Sexual violence leaves skid marks that don’t just disappear with time.

For many structurally marginalized people in Uganda, the impact weighs heavy. This is because it often exists alongside stigma, discrimination, and the risk of being misunderstood or even criminalized for who we are.

It’s not just about what happened in that moment.
It’s about how it follows you into your relationships, your sense of safety, your esteem and productivity.

Some days it shows up loudly. Other days, quietly. But it’s there.

And still, we deserve care. We deserve to be heard. We deserve spaces where we don’t have to explain or defend our existence before receiving support.

Healing is not a straight path. It takes time, community, and services that truly understand our realities, safe affirming gender responsive health care, affirming psychosocial support, and people who choose compassion over judgment.

As we head into the weekend, let this be a gentle reminder:
We all have a role to play in creating safer spaces. In checking in. In believing. In standing with each other.

Because care should never be conditional.
