As the Executive Director of BACO, it was my pleasure to represent our Organization at the Annual Philanthropy Symposium 2025 at Mestil Hotel Nsambya, Kampala Uganda. To celebrate and reclaim giving in Uganda.

A platform that was associated with many nonprofit organizations CEOs, Directors, founders, both public and private entities to discuss and explore giving opportunities in Uganda before searching for external fundings from more developed countries.

It was also a good space for networking with different managers, CEOs where partnerships were emphasized as one of the best ways of transforming lives. Coming together for a common cause can strongly impact the communities for sustainability.

In that manner, I was obliged to meet and share with two visionary and compassionate women when it comes to giving. Valeria CEO Lightup Impact Nairobi and Annemaiike CEO Backup Uganda. They were willing to support us in any possible ways such as sharing knowledge and ideas on NGO settings and funding raising procedures.
Their experience in Community work is overrated and we as BACO we are excited to learn alot from their experience.

We are indeed grateful that finally Clementine got her surgery. In a Special way we thank BACO for having made all possible ways for this Surgery to be done successfully, through financial support and all fundraising efforts.

This is also to thank everyone who made impactful contributions for Clementine’s Surgery. Thank you all for the love, prayers and financial support you rendered to her. May God continue blessing you in all your endeavors.

However, extra support is still needed for her rent since she stays in a rental, she’s a widow who is struggling to live a better life. Your continued support and commitment to improve Clementine’s lifestyle will never go unnoticed. Thanks all.

URGENT HELP NEEDED FOR A MOTHER IN PAIN

Dear friends,

We never imagined We’d be writing this, but sometimes life brings us face to face with someone else's pain and we can't just look away.

Kelemantine Kobusingye, a 35-year-old widow and mother, is in a desperate situation. She’s battling a painful hernia that has left her bedridden. She can’t work, can’t walk properly, and her only caretaker is her 7-year-old child.

Doctors have said surgery is urgently needed. Without it, her life is at serious risk.

The total cost of the surgery is 2,800,000 UGX (about $700 ) . The immediate need to have surgery totals to 160USD 600,000Ugx

This woman has already lost so much including her husband. Now she’s holding on, hoping someone will care enough to help her through.

We know her personally. This is real. This is happening. And we can’t leave her to face this alone.

If you feel led to help in any way even a small contribution it will go straight to her. We will make sure of that. And if you can’t give, your prayers and a share of this post can still make a big difference.

Let’s be the reason this mother gets a second chance at life.

Hello family, help us raise Baby Favor together.
She is Four days old baby whose case has just reached our office that she survived being dumped into a pit latrine by a heartless and careless mother.

Fortunately, a Good Samaritan came along and saved the innocent baby Favour from a scary death by her own mother. This baby’s mother run away and the police is still looking for her but she’s no where to be seen.

Apparently the baby is under the care of the Good Samaritan woman who is also a single mother with two kids struggling to raise her own children. In this case, she is urgently in need of extraordinary assistance and support to buy Favour’s daily milk, clothes and other necessities.

Meet Norah , Leading With Heart in Kikuube and Hoima

Every once in a while, a leader comes along who doesn’t just talk about change but lives it. That’s who Norah is to us and to the many communities she tirelessly serves.

Norah, our Executive Director at BACO, holds a degree in social sciences but it’s not just the papers that define her it’s her heart, her humility, and her relentless drive to uplift others. She’s been walking village to village, listening to families, checking in on children, and helping women find new ways to support their households.

Whether it’s ensuring girls stay in school, helping single mothers start small businesses, or advocating for health and safety in remote areas, Norah is right there. Not behind a desk, but on the ground, side by side with the people.

Her impact in Kikuube and Hoima isn’t measured in big headlines, but in the quiet victories like a child returning to school, a family sleeping under a mosquito net, or a young girl finding the courage to dream again.

We’re proud to walk this journey with Norah. She reminds us every day that real change starts with compassion and commitment.

Meet Kemitumba Solome, a 73 years old woman, who lives with two orphan grand children, Tulyashingura Dewusi( 9 years) and Tulyamulebe Joseph.( 14 years)

This woman’s story is so touching as we got a chance to share with her how she has been living her life. She narrated that she has been with those children since 2020 when both their parents died in a tragic car accident.

Since 2020 she has been struggling to cater for their meal, hospital and school bills due to lack of extra support. They’re also staying in a semi- permanent building of which they’re renting and the landlord is always on their neck to pay monthly rent dues.

Apparently, Dewusi and Joseph who are supposed to be attending school at their age are instead the bread winners of the family doing causal work, since their grand mother can’t support them anymore due to old age and they as well face difficulties accessing all scholastic resources like books, uniforms, and school fees.

This family is deeply in need of everyone’s support to save Dewusi and Joseph from child labor so that they obtain their full rights as children.
