"I am truly delighted to be attending this expo. As a mother, it has been an eye-opening experience, allowing me to discover a wide variety of nutritious foods that can greatly support our overall health.

I have gained a deeper understanding of the importance of fresh vegetables, particularly in strengthening our immune system and protecting the body against illness.

It has been especially valuable to learn about specific vegetables that contribute to bone health, support kidney function, and promote general wellbeing. Beyond simply knowing what to eat, I have also learnt practical and effective ways to prepare these vegetables in a manner that is both appealing and nourishing for my children.

This experience has equipped me with knowledge that I am confident will have a lasting positive impact on my family’s health. I am truly grateful for everything I have discovered at ". 👇

Powerful testament from one of the participants at the Expo.

Dickson Kincoonco, Senior Scientist at the THE JOINT CLINICAL RESEARCH CENTRE (JCRC) OFFICIAL, generously donated 1,000 seedlings to all hashtag participants, an effort rooted in advancing sustainable agriculture, strengthening household nutrition, and empowering communities to take charge of their own food systems and incomes.

By placing seedlings directly into the hands of participants, this initiative goes beyond a symbolic gesture; it equips families and farmers with the tools to cultivate long-term resilience, diversify livelihoods, and promote environmentally responsible practices.

Each seedling represents an opportunity to nourish households, generate income, and contribute to a greener, more food-secure future.

It is the second and final day of the inaugural at Lugogo UMA Hall, where energy and optimism continue to build among exhibitors and attendees alike.

Participants are outlining their ambitions for the next five years, with many emphasising sustainable practices, improved nutrition, and greater public awareness around healthy living. From innovative food products to community-based health initiatives, the ideas presented reflect a shared commitment to long-term impact rather than short-term gains.

At the heart of these discussions is a unifying vision: making Uganda a healthier nation. Exhibitors highlighted the importance of empowering individuals and communities with the knowledge and resources needed to make better lifestyle choices. This includes promoting locally sourced, nutritious foods, supporting small-scale producers, and encouraging preventative approaches to health.

This perspective is particularly encouraging because it recognises that meaningful change must begin at the grassroots level. By focusing on community engagement and practical, accessible solutions, these efforts have the potential to create lasting improvements in public health across the country.
