The Kabaka Foundation through its United Kingdom branch has donated six wheelchairs to Gombe Hospital in Butambala District to support patients with mobility challenges and strengthen the hospital’s delivery of emergency, maternity, and other essential medical services.

The hospital’s medical team expressed gratitude to His Majesty the Kabaka of Buganda for his continued support, noting that this is the second time His Majesty has supported Gombe Hospital.

The medical team and students were also encouraged to embrace and promote Tubeere Balamu Yinsuwa, a health insurance initiative that helps people access quality and affordable healthcare throughout the year.

Kabaka Foundation Receives Ultrasound Scanner Donation to Support Maternal Healthcare

Today, the Kabaka Foundation received a generous donation of an ultrasound scan machine from the Kabaka Foundation UK Branch, aimed at strengthening maternal and reproductive healthcare services at Kabaka Foundation Bukalango Hospital.

The ultrasound machine will play a vital role in supporting pregnant mothers in Bukalango and the surrounding communities by enabling healthcare professionals to monitor pregnancies more effectively and detect potential complications at an early stage.

For many expectant mothers in rural communities, access to pregnancy monitoring and diagnostic services remains a challenge, often requiring them to travel long distances to access appropriate medical equipment. The availability of the ultrasound scanner at Bukalango Hospital will help reduce this burden and improve access to essential antenatal services.

The donation is therefore an important contribution towards safer pregnancies, early diagnosis, informed medical care, and improved maternal and child health outcomes in the communities served by the hospital.

Kabaka Foundation appreciates the continued support and commitment of the Kabaka Foundation UK Branch towards improving healthcare services and uplifting the lives of communities in Uganda.

3 BEST MISS BUGANDA TOURISM MODELS ENROLLED ON TUBEERE BALAMU HEALTH INSURANCE

The Coordinator Kabaka's trail at the Kabaka Foundation, Arthur Kalumba, announced that His Majesty the Kabaka has offered a one-year free health insurance package to the top three outstanding cultural tourism models (Bannalulungi).

Speaking on behalf of the CEO of Kabaka Foundation, *Mr. Kaggwa Eddie Ndagala*, Kalumba said Kabaka Foundation will continue to work with the *Buganda Heritage and Tourism Board* to promote Buganda's culture through the models and to improve people's health so that the people of Kabaka can actively participate in the development programs of Ssaabasajja Kabaka.

The CEO of Buganda Heritage and Tourism Board, Mr. Najib Nsubuga, thanked Ssaabasajja Kabaka for establishing the Kabaka Foundation which has done things that help his people especially in health. He noted that without health nothing can be done, and emphasized that people are usually reluctant to seek treatment but this Tubeere Balamu initiative has simplified it by giving them affordable access to healthcare wherever they face challenges.

Ms. Nabasumba Rahma, a Cultural Tourism Model in Buganda, has called upon all people of Kabaka wherever they are to embrace the health insurance scheme because their health is very important to their families and friends.

Buvuma County hosted the eighth Tubeere Balamu Health Camp, organized by the Kabaka Foundation at Buvuma Health Centre IV. The Kabaka, through Retired Bishop Henry Katumba Tamale, reminded the people of Buganda’s responsibility, entrusted by UNAIDS in 2017, to champion the fight against HIV/AIDS. He urged residents to prevent HIV, adhere to treatment, and seek professional care for HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, and sanitation-related diseases.

The Kabaka also appreciated the health workers, Buvuma County Chief Mbuubi, and his committee for supporting the initiative. Bishop Katumba Tamale likewise thanked the medical workers for volunteering their time and providing free medical services to the people.

Edward Kaggwa Ndagala, Chief Executive Director of Kabaka Foundation, said the two-day camp would provide Hepatitis B vaccinations and urged residents to take advantage of the health services.
Buvuma County Chief Mbuubi Michael Mboowa encouraged people to undergo medical testing and know their health status early to prevent and manage diseases.

Hon. Migadde, Buvuma MP, urged regular medical check-ups, warned against using medicines without professional prescriptions, and encouraged blood donation and embracing the Tubeere Balamu health insurance scheme.

Buvuma Deputy DHO Mr. Mohammed Mukwaya thanked the Buganda Kingdom for including Buvuma in its programmes and urged treated patients to encourage others to seek medical care. He also raised concerns about poor sanitation and the lack of latrines in some households, which contributes to preventable diseases.
