As young girls, you have the power to become teachers, doctors, entrepreneurs, leaders, advocates, professionals, mothers, community builders, and change-makers. But becoming a strong woman starts with believing that you are worthy of opportunities and having the courage to pursue them.

Women Rising, Communities Transforming
These are not just women from South Kordofan; they are women with a vision, a purpose, and a determination to create change. In the face of conflict, displacement, limited opportunities, and the many challenges affecting their communities, they have chosen not to remain silent or simply wait for change.
They are rising to fill the gaps around them supporting women and girls, empowering young people, promoting dignity, and creating spaces where their communities can heal, grow, and hope again.

Their motivation comes from lived experience and a deep love for their people. They understand the challenges because they have witnessed them, and this has strengthened their commitment to serve.

When women rise, communities rise with them. These women are not only responding to today’s challenges they are building the foundation for a stronger, more empowered South Kordofan tomorrow.

This is the reality of life in Sudan women are displaced and have lost safety, shelter , hope and protection.
It’s very sad to watch these women sit on ground depressed and lacking basic needs .
The Nubian Queens project is doing it’s best but it’s not enough and we can’t reach everyone let’s put hands together and extend services to different IDPs in south Kordfan

In, South Kordofan, displacement has taken away more than homes. It has taken away the comfort of familiar places, the security of ordinary life, and the certainty of what tomorrow will bring.
Yet here they are women, children, men, and elders gathered beneath the trees, trying to hold on to one another and to hope.

There are no proper shelters around them. The ground beneath them has become their gathering place. The trees have become their shade. And uncertainty has become part of their daily lives.

But behind every face is a story.
Behind every mother is a family she is trying to protect.
Behind every child is a future that deserves a chance.
Behind every elderly person is a lifetime that should be lived with dignity not in displacement and fear.

These are not just numbers or statistics. They are people. They are families. They are our communities.

At Nubian Queens Empowerment Initiative, we believe that standing with displaced communities means more than witnessing their suffering. It means listening, responding, restoring dignity, and reminding them that they have not been forgotten.

Victims and survivors need continued humanitarian support, protection, psychosocial support, food, shelter, and essential supplies. Their needs cannot wait.

Let us not allow their stories to disappear behind the statistics of war.

They are still here. They are still hoping. And they deserve to be supported.

For the First Time, I Felt Someone Heard Me” Amina’s Testimony
My name is Amina, I am 20 years old, and I am from South Kordofan, Sudan.
For a long time, I carried pain that I did not know how to explain. Since the conflict began, I have never received psychological support. I learned to keep everything inside because there was always something more urgent to worry about where we would sleep, what we would eat, and whether we would be safe.
But I was not the only one hurting.
I would see my mother crying quietly. Sometimes she would hide somewhere so that my younger siblings would not see her tears. She tried to be strong for all of us, even when I could see that she was struggling too.
We became a family that learned how to survive, but we did not know how to heal.
Then I attended two psychosocial support sessions with the Nubian Queens Project.
At first, I was not sure what to expect. I had never sat with someone simply to talk about what I was feeling. But the team listened to me without judging me. They gave me a safe space to speak, to acknowledge my feelings, and to understand that what I was experiencing did not make me weak.
After only two sessions, I felt something changing inside me.
I felt lighter. I felt heard. I felt that my feelings mattered.
For the first time, I understood that surviving is not the end of the journey. We also need a chance to heal.
I wish my mother could receive the same support. I wish every young girl and every mother living through this conflict could have someone who listens to them and reminds them that they are not alone.
The two sessions did not erase everything we have been through, but they gave me something I had almost forgotten:
hope.
Today, I want other girls to know that it is okay to speak. It is okay to ask for help. And it is okay to heal.

They are not asking for luxury. They are asking for a chance.
These young girls from South Kordofan, in the Nuba Mountains of Sudan, sit in unfinished classrooms carrying dreams that conflict and displacement have repeatedly tried to take away from them.
They should be worrying about homework, friendships, examinations and their future.
Instead, they have grown up witnessing displacement, uncertainty and the painful reality of families being forced from their homes.
Look at their faces.
Behind every face is a story.
Behind every school uniform is a dream.
Behind every classroom is a generation refusing to give up.
Their classroom may be unfinished, but their dreams are not.
For children affected by conflict, education is more than books and lessons. It is protection. It is hope. It is stability. It is a pathway out of vulnerability and a foundation for rebuilding communities.
At the Nubian Queens Empowerment Initiative (Nubian Queens Project), we believe that displacement should never determine a girl's future.
We want to see these girls learn in safe and dignified environments, receive the support they need, and grow into the leaders their communities desperately need.
But we cannot do this alone.
We are calling on partners, donors, organizations and people who believe in the power of education to stand with the girls of South Kordofan.
Your support can help provide learning materials, safe learning spaces, mentorship, psychosocial support and opportunities that allow girls affected by conflict to continue their education and rebuild their futures.
They have already lost too much.
Let us not allow them to lose their future too.
Invest in a girl today, and you are investing in the future of an entire community.
Their dreams deserve a safe place to grow.
