A different Spirit: Aborting God's Promise.
But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants. Numbers 14:24.
Numbers 13 and 14 are 2 chapters with a lot of lessons for us today.
Did you know that you can cause what God promised to fail in your life? God's promises are hinged on two words, Faith and Obedience. The children of Israel had a promise to enter the promised land. Although some saw it from a distance and even ate some of the fruits from the land, majority did not take possession of it. Why? even though they had seen the miracles of God, they had hearts of disobedience and showed Contempt toward God. They grumbled and even thought slavery was better than freedom.
The Bible says that Caleb had a different spirit and so God allowed him and Joshua to possess the land. Their hearts looked at situations from God's side ( Faithful, way-maker, loving, concerned, and all-Powerful). This is a heart of Faith, based on What God is able to do.
Do you have a promise from God? Stay in Faith and Obedience as you wait.
