Children at Risk Action Network Connect People | Build Quality Capacity | Deliver Collaborative Action | Maximize Children’s Contributions

CRANE was founded in 2003 and officially registered in 2004, by a small number of Christian organisations who were working in Kampala to rescue children from the streets and from abuse. They wanted a forum where they could share learning, pray, engage and plan together. Their desire was to make a bigger impact in the city as they worked together than they would have been able to do by working in isolation. Sixteen years on, hundreds of thousands of children, across multiple categories have been supported, nurtured, encouraged and helped to grow. They have been cared for by the hundreds of organisations and churches that have worked together. Many of these children have also benefited from joint initiatives that the network secretariat has worked on with the members.

🇺🇬 Day of the African Child 2026

As we commemorate the Day of the African Child under the theme “Ensuring Universal Access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Every Child in Africa,” we are reminded that every child in Uganda deserves access to clean water, safe sanitation, and proper hygiene.

At Children at Risk Action Network (CRANE), we believe these are fundamental rights that protect children's health, dignity, and future. Let us all work together to ensure that no child is left behind.

Hello friends and supporters of CRANE, we invite you to be part of something truly meaningful.

Children at Risk Action Network is organising a Kids Fun Day, and with just UGX 10,000, you can sponsor a child for a full day of joy featuring animal therapy, nature exploration, crafts, a mini sports gala, water play, and more.

For many children, this is more than just a fun day it’s a chance to feel happy, valued, and cared for.

We kindly ask you to sponsor a child, share this message, or support in any way you can. Every contribution makes a difference.

Please see the flyer for more details.
