Surrender the Key to the Harvest
Ps. Okello Emmanuel
1 Kings 3:5–13
Many times, we ask God for the wrong things because our hearts are still attached to them. We focus so much on the “harvest” — blessings, success, opportunities — yet God is first looking at the condition of our hearts. James 4:3
Through Hannah’s story (1 Samuel 1:9–11), we learn that true surrender means giving back to God what He blesses us with. God trusted her with more because He saw a surrendered heart, not selfish ambition. 1 Samuel 2:21
The real question is not just “What do you want from God?” but “Why do you want it?” God searches the heart. Jeremiah 17:10
We often try to control the outcome of the harvest, yet the only thing we truly have control over is the state of our hearts. God desires a people who are fully surrendered to Him beyond their desires, plans, and expectations.
Galatians 2:20 reminds us that our lives are no longer our own. As we grow in the knowledge of Christ, selfish desires begin to fade, and our greatest desire becomes God Himself.
When you have God, you have everything.
Focus on your relationship with Christ, and trust Him with the harvest.
