Collaborative Development Kawempe "Creating a safe environment for all" is the motto for Collaborative Development Kawempe (CODEK), a community-based organization in Kampala, Uganda.

Collaborative Development Kawempe (CODEK) was founded in 2013 to promote child rights and lift children and youth out of poverty. The community-based organization was formed in response to mitigate the psychosocial and economic impact of HIV/AIDS among children in Kawempe division of Kampala. However, since its foundation CODEK over the time broadened its portfolio. By 2016 CODEK provides educatio

nal support both to children and adults, provides HIV prevention and information and tackles other diseases such as Tuberculosis and Malaria. Furthermore CODEK undertakes economic empowerment measures and counselling to residents of Bwaise I, Kawempe in order to improver their living conditions and ultimately lift them out of poverty.CODEK supports and cares for all people in the area regardless of their tribe, social status, s*x, religion, age, and colour.
