Soccer Without Borders Uganda The youth are able to share in an effort toward achieving tangible goals.

Using soccer and education as a vehicle for positive change, SWB Uganda serves 300 refugee youth with daily programs at its Nsambya Youth Center, hosts the Kampala Girls League, Nsambya Barefoot League, Bondeko Gala series, and numerous Goal 5 Projects. We provide a safe space and an opportunity for urban refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Sudan and Somalia to integrate with their Ugandan peers.

Last Friday, particpants came together for the CBIM Pledge Day, taking time to reflect on what they learned throughout the Coaching Boys Into Men program.

The day included a Dutch tournament, group discussions, and a post-program survey before participants made their CBIM pledge, committing to respect, positive relationships, gender equity, and responsible behaviour on and off the field.

The day marked an important moment to reflect on the journey and encourage participants to carry these lessons into their everyday lives and communities.

We are grateful to Futures Without Violence for partnering with us in creating spaces where young people can learn, reflect, and build positive relationships through the CBIM program. 💙⚽

Celebrating another milestone for the Global Girls Project! 💙🎓

Today, 15 girls graduated from the third cohort of the Global Girl Project after three months of leadership and problem-solving sessions delivered in partnership with St. Paul Primary School, Nsambya.

As part of their graduation, the girls led a community discussion on “Lack of Girls’ Education” under the theme “Girls with a Dream Become Women with Vision.” Together with community members, they explored the challenges that keep girls out of school and shared ideas on how everyone can help create more opportunities for girls to learn and succeed.

The graduation was attended by the Headteacher of St. Paul, who commended the girls for confidently leading the discussion and demonstrating the leadership skills they had developed throughout the program.

Congratulations to our newest graduates. We look forward to seeing them continue leading positive change in their communities.

From January 11–15, 2027, volunteers will join our coaches in Kampala for a week of soccer, team-building, cultural exchange, and activities with refugee and local youth.

Come ready to play, learn, coach, and connect while experiencing how soccer can bring people and communities together.
