The official cohort for the premier edition of the Script to Market International Film Residency is here! 🎬

Congratulations to the selected filmmakers from across Uganda. The programme is excited to welcome these creators on a 14-week journey of developing stories, building skills, and taking Ugandan cinema to global heights.

We won Best Feature Film 🏆

We are proud to celebrate the outstanding recognition received by “You May Kiss the Bride Goodbye” at the Uganda Film Festival.

The film received 14 nominations* and won 4 awards:
- Best Feature Film
- Best Director
- Best Costume
- Best Makeup

You May Kiss The Bride Goodbye was produced by 7 emerging talents selected and trained through ¨Opportunities Are Here¨, a programme by the International Trade Centre (ITC) and funded by the European Union Delegation in Uganda

Under Opportunities Are Here, young Ugandan professionals received specialized training in the film sector. 7 talents were selected for an intensive creative camp where they produced this thriller as hands-on, real-life training. The result: a feature film competing at the national level and creating tangible employment and skills pathways for youth in Uganda’s creative economy.

Winning Best Feature Film — the festival’s most prestigious award — is a testament to the relevance and impact of investing in young people. It proves that when we equip youth with skills, mentorship and opportunity, they don’t just participate in the industry. They lead it.
