Despite the growing challenges caused by funding cuts, YOBAC continues to provide access to quality education for displaced children. Our commitment remains strong, and we are determined to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a better future. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported our work and made it possible for us to reach this far.
However, the need is still great. Many vulnerable children in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo are still in urgent need of education and support. YOBAC continues to rely on the generosity of partners, donors, and well-wishers to sustain and expand our impact.
You can support YOBAC by sponsoring a child at our school, helping to provide access to education, meals, and essential learning materials.
Together, we can continue transforming lives and creating hope for displaced children across the region.

Academic Year 2026 Has Officially Begun at YOBAC Nursery & Primary School! 🎉
Yesterday, 11 February 2026, we successfully opened the new academic year at YOBAC Nursery and Primary School. The student turnout was excellent, and we are deeply grateful to our dedicated teachers and management team for their commitment and preparedness. Your hard work makes quality education possible for our learners 👏🏽📚
We are also excited to welcome a new volunteer to our school community. At YOBAC, we value volunteerism and encourage individuals who wish to gain meaningful experience while making a real impact to join us.
🤝 Sponsor a Child – Change a Life
We warmly invite partners and well-wishers to support a child’s education:
Uganda (YOBAC Nursery & Primary School): $50 per child per quarter, covering school fees, meals, and basic medical care.
Eastern DR Congo: $300 per child per year for Kindergarten, Primary, or Secondary education.

We are delighted to announce that YOBAC Nursery and Primary School has successfully completed the academic year! Our heartfelt gratitude goes to all our supporters, including Werner Erkes Foundation, Mr. Rob, Mahaba Foundation, and Adrielle, whose generosity made this year fruitful and impactful.

On the 27th, we joyfully held a graduation ceremony for our Top Class learners, who will be joining Primary One in the next academic year. It was a beautiful and memorable day filled with excitement, smiles, and pride from our children, parents, guardians, teachers, and the entire YOBAC team.

This milestone reminds us of the power of education and the importance of community support in shaping the future of young refugees. Thank you for standing with us and we look forward to another year of growth and transformation! 🌟📚💛

Today, YOBAC had the privilege of participating in a consultative workshop on the National Refugee Policy, hosted by Innovations for Poverty Action in collaboration with Refugee-Led Organizations and other partners.
The Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) noted that Uganda currently hosts 1.9 million refugees, whose voices were well represented in the discussions.
We appreciate the Government of Uganda for engaging refugee leaders in shaping the policy updates that govern refugees in the country.
We sincerely thank AYAN for inviting us to contribute to this important activity.

At YOBAC, we believe happiness grows when young people are given the tools to shape their own futures. In the Kyangwali Refugee Settlement, many youth face daily struggles, but their creativity and resilience shine when given a chance. Through our leather and craft training, more than 300 young refugees have discovered new skills and new hope.
One of our participants shared how learning leatherwork not only gave him the ability to earn an income but also restored his sense of dignity and purpose. Many others now make beautiful bags, shoes, belts, and crafts, which they proudly sell to support themselves and their families.
This transformation has only been possible through the support of our partners, the Children’s Rights and Violence Prevention Fund, whose generosity has helped us create real opportunities for youth in Kyangwali. Together, we are not only building skills but also creating joy, confidence, and brighter futures.
At YOBAC, we don’t just teach skills, we create happiness, hope, and lasting change.

Education is a powerful tool to restore hope for displaced children. At YOBAC Kindergarten and Primary School, the number of children is increasing daily. Last year, we had 500 children; to date, that number has risen to 700 due to the ongoing conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Many children are crossing the border into Uganda, further increasing our enrollment.

Support YOBAC in providing quality education by
volunteering on-site.
donating desks.
sponsoring a child for $200 per year. sponsoring the construction of a classroom.
or contributing to our teachers' stipends.
Education is a precious wealth.
