HAVING noticed that children with disabilities in Kasese District are without any adequate rehabilitative services,right away from the grass root,

KNOWING THAT children with disabilities have rights that have to be protected under national and international frameworks and instruments

HAVING THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS ANS EXPERIENCED youth with disabilities also trained as Community Based Rehabilitat

ion (CBR) workers, with inspiration and determination necessary to address the plight of children with disabilities in Kasese District

BELIEVING THAT a lot can be achieved when people come together into organization to address social, economic problems
Resolve to constitute ourselves into a community based organization called Hope for Children with Disabilities (HCDs) and governed by a documented constitution. Vision: a happy, healthy, accepted/included and integrated child with disabilities. Registered under reg. No. 2191 at municipality and No.2145.at District level with a plan to exceed to the national level. The association now has a total number of 518 CWDs registered with 212 males 306 females with more being identified and in the process to be registered. OUR OBJECTIVES.

1.To advocate for the rights, freedoms and protection of CWDs and other vulnerable children (OVCs) in the Rwenzori region.
2. To uplift the social standards of CWDs both morally and materially through training and initiation of income generating activities for self reliance.
3. To promote care and rehabilitation of CWDs.
4. To promote a spirit of working together and self determination to detect the root causes of under development of CWDs.
5. To promote health education as a means of preventing deadly diseases like HIV / AIDS, T.B, Cholera, maleria and others amongst CWDs.
6. To promote networking and cooperation with development partners for resource mobilization, experience and information sharing.
7. To provide psycho-social support services to CWDs, their families and community atlarge.

8. To carry out such other activities deemed critical for the furtherance of our mission and realization of our vision.
