A proud milestone unlocked.

Women in Kwania and Lira districts have successfully created their email accounts—marking an important step into the digital world.

What may seem simple is, in reality, transformative. Across the room, there is excitement as participants carefully write down their email addresses and passwords, determined to remember, use, and build on this new skill.

These are not just email accounts. They are tools for growth.

With an email address, these women can now:
• communicate more professionally with customers
• send and receive orders
• access online platforms and opportunities
• build credibility for their businesses

For women running enterprises in the informal sector, this shift is powerful. It strengthens how they show up, how they connect, and how they compete in today’s digital economy.

Step by step, we are seeing confidence grow alongside capability.

This is what looks like in practice.

Digital inclusion begins with confidence.

Across Amudat and Kabelebyong, a total of 261 women are currently participating in the Digital Skilling for Women in the Informal Sector program — 153 from Amudat and 108 from Kabelebyong — taking their first steps toward navigating the digital world with confidence.

In these sessions, women are learning practical smartphone basics that many of us take for granted:
• using the camera to capture and share products
• communicating through digital platforms
• understanding essential online safety practices

An important part of the training focuses on helping women recognize and navigate risks in the digital space, including:
• online scams and fraud
• data privacy and security
• cyberbullying and harassment
• responsible use of time online
• understanding the cost implications of devices and data

These are foundational skills that enable women entrepreneurs to participate safely and effectively in the digital economy.

Step by step, the women are building the confidence, awareness, and digital capability needed to use technology not just for communication, but for business, learning, and opportunity.

This work forms part of the broader initiative, which is helping women in the informal sector across Uganda unlock the potential of digital tools for economic participation and growth.

Day 3 of in Bugweri and Butebo focused on something many businesses underestimate but can transform livelihoods: using WhatsApp for business.

For many of the women participating in this training, their businesses are rooted in the informal sector: bag making, tailoring, agriculture, and small-scale trade. Their products are strong. Their skills are proven. What has often been missing is digital visibility and customer reach.

Today we explored how tools they already use daily can become powerful business platforms.

Women learned how to:
• Set up WhatsApp Business profiles for their enterprises
• Share product photos and catalogs with customers
• Communicate professionally with clients
• Receive and confirm orders digitally
• Use WhatsApp groups and broadcast lists to reach more buyers

What was inspiring was watching the shift in mindset. WhatsApp stopped being just a chat application,it became a shop window, a marketing tool, and a customer service channel.

A tailor can now share new designs instantly.
A bag maker can send product photos to customers beyond her village.
A farmer can update buyers about harvest availability.

This is how digital inclusion becomes practical when technology meets real businesses and real income opportunities.

The women of Bugweri and Butebo are proving that when skills meet opportunity, even the simplest digital tools can unlock entirely new markets.

And this is only Day 3.

Day 2 in Butebo & Bugweri and the momentum is only growing. 💻🔥

Women are back with even more energy — and today, they’re not just learning, they’re doing. From setting up their first email accounts to navigating digital tools for business, real transformation is happening in real time.

Digital skilling for women in the informal sector is not theory. It’s practical access. It’s visibility. It’s opportunity.

Grateful to Uganda Communications Commission for championing this pathway to digital inclusion.

Season 3 of has officially begun and we are live on the ground in Bugweri and Butebo.

The turnout of women has been incredible a clear sign that the desire to grow, learn and lead in the era is stronger than ever.
We are proud to advance this work in collaboration with Uganda Communications Commission ( ) and the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance( ), whose partnership continues to strengthen digital access and capacity-building efforts across communities.

This is what looks like: women showing up for themselves, embracing and positioning their businesses and ideas for greater visibility and market access.

The momentum is real. The commitment is visible.
And the future is and women are stepping into it boldly.

This weekend, something powerful happened.

At our Women & Wealth SACCO Brunch, we didn’t just talk about money, we redefined our relationship with it.

The room was full of ambitious women, but by the end of the session, you could feel the elevation. The shift from income to assets. From hustle to structure. From “I’m earning” to “I’m building.”

We went deep into:
• Intentional budgeting
• Aligning business and personal finances
• Planning early for retirement
• Protecting wealth
• Designing legacy beyond ourselves

The conversations were honest. Practical. Transformative.

Our speaker was phenomenal, breaking down finance in a way that was clear, strategic, and immediately actionable. The kind of session where notebooks fill up quickly and the Q&A could have gone on for hours.

And truly, no one wanted it to end.

This Monday, we don’t just go back to work.
We go back more informed.
More intentional.
More structured.

Because wealth is not accidental.
It is planned.
And we are planning boldly.

Today we host a powerhouse.

Our Women & Wealth Brunch speaker is not just a finance professional, she is a strategist, systems thinker, and champion of women’s economic power.

CPA, Chief Finance Officer at , brings over 16 years of cross-sector experience spanning banking, oil & gas, and entrepreneurship. She operates at the intersection of finance, innovation, and enterprise development, designing financial systems that actually enable growth.

But what makes this conversation different?

Mary is deeply invested in practical wealth creation for women. Not just income. Not just hustle. Ownership. Assets. Structured investing. Collective capital.

She understands:
• How disciplined investing transforms financial trajectories
• Why SACCOs and investment groups are powerful wealth vehicles
• How women can move from earning to building lasting financial security
• What it takes to design resilient financial ecosystems

For the women in our SACCO, founders in our network, and leaders building long-term capital strategies, today’s session is about shifting mindset from survival to scale.

If you’re in the room, come ready to rethink wealth.
