Our team was at the Girls First Summit in Kampala, joining our partner, Girl Rising to reflect on what it truly takes to create lasting opportunities for girls to learn, lead, speak up and thrive.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing our Nwoya District Girl Champion, Gladys, take her place on the girls’ panel. 💜

Gladys shared powerful insights from her lived experience on voice, confidence and inclusion, reminding everyone in the room of something we know deeply: girls should not simply be spoken about, they must be heard, trusted and meaningfully included in the decisions that shape their lives.

Because when girls have a voice, we have a responsibility to listen.

When we walked back into Mulago School for the Deaf this past Thursday, the first thing we saw was the Body Pride Tree artwork we made with the students on our first visit still hanging proudly on the wall 🌳🌸
Real impact isn't about showing up once to take photos and leaving. It’s about coming back, building trust, and adapting how we teach.

In Session #2, we demystified the menstrual cycle, taught calendar tracking, and worked with young boys on how to support their female classmates when they have cramps or need help from a teacher.

We also learned an important lesson about the visual materials deaf students truly need to thrive in health education.
✨ We published the full story behind this visit on our Substack.

When a community shows up like that, change becomes real.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! 🚨

Two powerful movements of generosity are coming together at this year’s Periods Are Power Exhibition, Rotary Uganda District 9213 and GivingTuesday Uganda.

This partnership is a celebration of Uganda’s spirit of giving.

Together, we will shine a spotlight on real, everyday stories of Ugandan generosity, from communities supporting their own, to youth-led acts of kindness, to the creativity that fuels menstrual justice work across the country.

At the heart of this collaboration is a shared belief:
When community, creativity, and purpose meet, transformation happens.

THIS IS UGANDA AND WE GIVE!
