🧡 Child Rights: Every Child Deserves Protection, Dignity, and Opportunity
Children are the future, but today, they are the most vulnerable members of society.
At Bethel Children Outreach, we believe in the power of children—and their right to grow, learn, and live in an environment of care and protection.
Did you know that around the world, millions of children still face exploitation, neglect, and violence every single day? These are not just statistics. They are real children, with names, dreams, and the right to a childhood free from harm.
🌍 What Are Child Rights?
Child rights are the fundamental human rights that every child is entitled to simply because they are human. These rights are enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), which has been ratified by almost every country in the world. The core of child rights revolves around ensuring that every child has access to:
1. The Right to Life, Survival, and Development
Every child has the right to live, survive, and thrive in a nurturing environment, with proper health care, nutrition, and access to education.
2. The Right to Education
Every child deserves quality education, irrespective of their gender, economic background, or geographic location.
3. The Right to Protection from Abuse, Exploitation, and Violence
Children have the right to be protected from all forms of abuse—whether physical, emotional, or sexual—and to grow up in safe environments.
4. The Right to Be Heard
Every child has the right to express their views, and their opinions should be given due weight in matters affecting them.
5. The Right to Play
Play is essential to every child's development. It fosters learning, creativity, and emotional well-being.
6. The Right to a Family
All children have the right to live with their family, or if not possible, in a safe and supportive alternative arrangement.
