*WALK IN LIGHT*
(Eph.5:8)

To “walk in the light” requires that one receive God’s message (the “light”) and that one practice the truth. In other words, the truth of God’s Word must not only be received and believed, but that truth must be lived out in the lives of His servants/children
God’s Word is light.

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105).

The primary way a person receives light/ knowledge is through God’s Word.

~Christians are called light.

“For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light” (Ephesians 5:8).
Christians are light in the sense that as we share the character of Him who is light, our lives serve as light to a world immersed in darkness. (Read John 3:19-21)

God is the source of all light. To walk in light is to share His character—to walk in righteousness and purity. God has no “darkness” in His character at all—no unrighteousness or sin. People who walk in the light are people who have no deliberate or conscious unrighteousness or sin in their lives.

*WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO WALK IN LIGHT?*

The Word of God, a source of light, daily who we are (Eph. 5:13), what we should be, and how we can change to become more like Jesus. To walk in the light means that we daily bring our thoughts and actions under the scrutiny of God’s Word and respond in obedience to its guiding influence. "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7)

*A DECISION MUST BE MADE IF ONE IS TO “WALK IN THE LIGHT”*

(1 John 1:7). The conditional particle “if” implies that we have a choice whether or not we shall walk in the light. The tense of the verb “walk” is a present tense which indicates the need for continuous action.

Thus we choose, by His enabling grace, to live righteously moment-by-moment. This means that we fully obey all the truth He has given us.

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for your word which is the truth and light. I open my heart to understand you and fully subject all my thoughts and actions to the obedience of your word. enable me oh Lord by your grace to live and walk in light moment by moment. Help me to shine my light before men that your name maybe glorified in what I say and do and lead me in to the way everlasting in Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things.

*YOU CAN CONTROL YOUR THOUGHTS*

Thoughts are more than our imaginations, they are mental pictures with constructive or even destructive capabilities.

Thoughts have the ability to keep one in bo***ge or to liberate him/her.

From our opening scripture we see that we can control the character of our thoughts. Most of the times, our thoughts are our own creations of our minds based on our imaginations.

Thoughts are so powerful in that if we fail to change our way of thinking, our lives and circumstances of our living will not change.

The life we live today and our actions are expressions of our thought process.

God has given us the ability to change our life from glory to glory by managing our minds to think right.(Romans 12:2)

*Dear God, I want to be a better person. Give me a teachable attitude. Then show me what keeps limiting me from achieving success as a lid in my life. Reveal my character flaws to me, and help me to repair them. Show me where I need to grow. And as I come up against those limitations that are outside me and beyond my control, please be my present help and strength in time of need and let me meet people who will help me succeed in my endeavors. I place my self in your hands. Amen.*

A right believing leads to a right living

The easiest way of catching a flu is by hanging out with someone with a flu. The easiest way to catch bad habits is by hanging out with those with bad habits. Never underestimate the power of association because iron sharpens iron.

You can't be different from those you closely associate with. Your association will determine your acceleration in life. You can be found with people who are going nowhere and expect to go somewhere.

It is important to mention though that it is not only the people you are found with that will influence you but the people you follow on social media, the songs you listen to, the books you read etc. Just because someone is an influencer doesn't mean you should follow them. Learn to distinguish between a positive influencer and a negative influencer. Sadly many are bored in life and have no direction and are therefore looking for entertainment more than education. The truth is some of you have been found in bad situations because of negative influencers. Ask yourself if what you are learning from that person you are following is making you better or it's just putting you under unnecessary pressure and competition. Ask yourself what you would lose if you unfollowed that person. Maybe you are just being used to make money for others.

People who don't increase you will definitely reduce you. Choose people who inspire. Don't follow blindly. In the long run it will be you that will be hurt. Choose wisely.

THE DYING COW

A Short Moral Story.

A boy went to an old man and said to him.
"What is the biggest lesson that life has taught you?"

The old man paused for a moment and said.
"I'm sorry but I'm not in the mood to talk right now. I am deeply worried"

The boy asked.
"What's the matter, sir"

The old man responded.
"My pregnant cow has been in labour for more than twenty hours. I'm afraid she could die as the pain is excruciating"

The boy whistled.
"You have to do something about it"

The old man muttered.
"I have no knowledge about things like this. I'm old and weak, I can't do anything to help. But maybe if we seek the opinions and advice of other people, we could save my poor cow from dying. Don't you think so?"

The boy nodded his head, then the old man added.
"Do me a favour and take a walk down the road. You'll meet random people on your way. You will have to seek advice from at least four people. We need to know what their opinions are about my dying cow"

The boy left immediately, then returned about an hour later. He said to the old man.
"I was able to ask four people for their advice... The first person suggested you call the local vet immediately so that he can perform a surgery to remove the calf. The second person suggested you give the cow more time to give birth naturally, and that calling the vet won't be necessary. The third person suggested you kill the cow and sell the meat as she would eventually die. And the fourth person suggested you assist the cow by pulling the calf from the womb with your hands"

The old man said.
"Interesting, isn't it, that everyone's opinions differ so much. So which do you think I should follow?"

The boy thought for a while and said.
"I find the whole thing very confusing. Everyone gave a different piece of advice"
