THE BENEFITS OF SALVATION
June 30

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek”.( Romans 1:16 )

The Gospel is the power of God that releases the effects of salvation in our lives. Salvation is much more than just being born again. This refers to every benefit that the believer is entitled to through Jesus. Therefore, if we are not experiencing the abundance that Jesus provided for us— in any area of our lives—then we are having a problem understanding and/or believing the Gospel.

The term “Gospel” has become so familiar to Christians that the true meaning and understanding have been lost. The truths of the Gospel are not commonly preached or understood in many churches. This is the reason that so many Christians are not walking in all the benefits of their salvation. They don’t have the power of the Gospel working in them.

If a person needs healing, it’s in the Gospel. If deliverance is needed, it’s in the Gospel. Prosperity, answered prayer, joy, peace, love—they are all found through understanding and believing the Gospel.

Our oneness with God is in the spirit. We have a new Spirit who is from God and identical to Christ (1 John 4:17), for He is the Spirit of God’s Son who has been sent into our hearts crying Abba, Father (Gal. 4:6). Our born-again spirits have been made completely new, and they are reconciled to God. God’s Spirit and our spirits are identical. Some people can’t accept this, because they know themselves only from the carnal point of view. They look in the mirror and search their thoughts and know there are things there that are not like Jesus. But in your spirit, if you are born again, you have been reconciled to God. What is good success? Good success comes from following through on what God calls you to do. But how can you have good success? It starts by meditating on the Word of God. That doesn’t just mean reading the Bible once and hoping it sticks. Meditating on the Word means pondering and praying on what you read over and over until it becomes part of you. Most people believe they are only forgiven of things they have done in the past. Every time they sin, they think it is a new transgression that has to be “put under the blood” by confession and repentance. That’s not so! Jesus sanctified and perfected us forever through one offering. He is not reapplying His blood to us every time we sin.

The way to understand this wonderful truth is to recognize that when we are born again, we receive new spirits that are created in righteousness and true holiness. The new, born-again spirit is as holy and pure as Jesus is because it is His Spirit. The moment we believe, we are sealed (vacuum packed), and sin cannot pe*****te that seal. Miscommunication and misunderstanding are some of the biggest sources of conflict on the planet. People generally tend to be far more interested in talking than in listening. As a result, people talk past one another. Our politics today is a symptom of that very problem where the different sides talk past and talk over each other constantly. The result is a toxic political discourse which accomplishes very little beyond stirring up anger and strife. Much of the interaction on social media is unfortunately very similar. The Bible shows us the answer to this problem. We should instead be swift to hear and slow to speak. Pulling the reins on our anger while we actively listen to the other person allows much better potential for clear communication. Most misunderstandings can be quickly cleared away with a direct conversation including some clarifying questions. Besides, anger never produces the righteousness of God. Your anger won't produce righteousness in the other person. Nor will it do so in you either. Make it a point to hear what others are saying and watch your communications skills improve dramatically.
