Staff wellbeing matters. ๐Ÿ’™

FCA Uganda is conducting an ongoing staff wellness screening with Dr. Kasenene Wellness Clinic, giving our team an opportunity to check their health and receive guidance on healthy living, prevention and early action.

Behind every number is a person. Behind every person is a story.

This World Humanitarian Day, we celebrate the people at the heart of our work and the many ways we put humanity into action; through education, skills, livelihoods, protection, emergency assistance and partnerships.

Hereโ€™s Humanity in Action across our work in Uganda. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’š

Through our education support, backed by Education Cannot Wait through Save the Children Uganda, we distributed essential teaching materials to 10 schools across Lobule & Imvepi settlements, helping teachers strengthen lesson planning, develop learning aids and improve record keeping.

๐ŸŽ‰ This Youth Day, weโ€™re spotlighting young entrepreneurs in Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement.

Justine Mukunde, a young tailor supported through RETI (a programme supporting refugee and host-community youth with skills and opportunities), says market access remains a major barrier to turning skills into sustainable livelihoods.

She calls for stronger market linkages and opportunities beyond the settlement to help young entrepreneurs grow their businesses.

RETI is implemented in partnership with Muni University & supported by the Mastercard Foundation.

Every young person has a talent to be unlocked.

In Rwamwanja, FCA's Digital and Creative Economy(DICE) project is supporting refugee and host community youth to transform their passion and talent into skills and create opportunities for the future.

Today, we commissioned the China Emergency/Humanitarian Assistance Project in Nakivale Refugee Settlement.

Through the project, we shall provide food, sanitary supplies & other relief support to newly arrived refugees, supporting urgent humanitarian needs and restoring dignity to vulnerable families.

๐Ÿฉบ On today, we to highlight the proven effectiveness of early intervention.

Offering parents free health check-ups for their children can identify and treat potential problems early on, so that children can thrive.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฌ In Mubende district, malnutrition hinders the development of many children. With the support of FCA and in partnership with UNICEF, children receive the care and rehabilitation they need through the Intervention for Disability in Early Childhood (IDEC) project.

We work together to support health care teams to ensure that services reach the most remote households. The team members are trusted members of their own communities and play a crucial role in identifying and supporting vulnerable children, who are then transported to medical facilities for treatment. ๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿ’š

We wish you and your families a joyful and blessed Easter filled with hope, renewal, and peace.
