During the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi, on Saturday, May 16, in Assisi, our mentor Br. Adolf attended the award ceremony for the 2026 International Award “Francis of Assisi and Carlo Acutis for an Economy of Fraternity,” presented to the Congregation of Holy Cross’ Holy Family Mission in Bougainville.

For us, this is a celebration of ecological hope inspired by St. Francis of Assisi and Saint Carlo Acutis, whose witness continues to inspire young people in faith and in the creative use of the internet for innovation and evangelization, said Br. Adolf, C.S.C .en

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers and families for us at Laudato Youth Intiative we will celebrate it with Busoga Catholics in Kampala (Bucaka) as we thank God for the gift of life through our mothers and through Mother Earth reflecting on the theme: “Growing Green: Protecting Nature and Creating Better Lives.”

We believe that caring for creation is an integral part of preserving our heritage, culture, and faith for future generations.

The liturgy will be led by Richard Kayaga Gonza from the Cultural Research Center, Jinja Diocese. Our long time Friend Fr. Vincent Kaboy youth friends of Jesus Mbarara checked to bless our day.

May this celebration inspire us to nurture life, protect nature, and strengthen our communities in faith and love.
