Mukono District leaders have joined forces with GIBEH and development partners to intensify efforts against sexual and gender-based violence affecting children. During a recent stakeholdersโ meeting, findings from a survey revealed alarming rates of teenage pregnancy and exploitation among girls aged 12 to 17. The newly launched "Keep Her In School" program will utilize peer-to-peer education to empower children with vital knowledge on sexual health, safety, and abuse reporting. Leaders emphasized the importance of community involvement, extending the initiative beyond schools to include parents, local leaders, and community actors, in a bid to protect vulnerable children and break the silence surrounding abuse in Mukono District.
