Today was a very special day as we celebrated our dear Jovan's birthday!

Before Jovan joined our sponsorship program in 2023, his birthday was never celebrated. Not because his mother didn't want to, but because of poverty. There was simply no way.

But for the last 4 years, everything changed because of one amazing family. Mom Sherry and her family have loved Jovan and his family so deeply.

Since 2023, Jovan has been receiving not just his full tuition, spiritual development, uniform, shoes, and school requirements, but also Christmas gifts and birthday gifts. Mom Sherry never forgets - she always reminds me when his birthday is approaching.

Today we celebrated with a big cake and sodas for all his friends! And the most special moment - Jovan got the chance to video chat with his sponsor and her entire family. It meant the world to him. Every birthday, he gets that special time to speak with them, and today was so beautiful and stood out for him.

Thank you so much, Mom Sherry and family, for giving Jovan a reason to smile, to dream, and to feel so loved. You have truly changed his story.

What a powerful and well-deserved honor! Congratulations to you Ps. Kenny Davis Jr. on being recognized as Pastor Emeritus. Your life of faithful service has been such a blessing to so many of us.

As we were preparing for baptism here at Freedom Fellowship church Uganda, I saw her coming from far — a young mother with her little baby tied on her back, walking under the hot sun.

She lives in total poverty. No nice clothes, no shoes that match, but her heart is so rich in God.

When we first shared the news about baptism, she was among the very first people to register. While others were still thinking about it, she said, _"Pastor, I want to give my life fully to Jesus."_

Sometimes the situation makes us think people like her would be too busy looking for what to eat, too tired, too ashamed of having nothing to offer. But not her. Her zeal and love for Jesus is stronger than her poverty.

She told me, _"Even if I have nothing, I have Jesus. I want to be baptized."_

As I watched her carrying her baby on her back to come and be baptized, I was reminded that true faith is not about what you have in your hands, but what you have in your heart.

Please keep praying for mothers like her. That God will continue to strengthen their faith.

Moments like this are a reminder of why this work matters. ❤️ 👟 Our team is working hard and putting the final touches on another bunch of shoes for our children!

And I just have to say THANK YOU! We couldn't do this without people like YOU who gave when we called for help.

For many of these kids, this will be their FIRST EVER nice, long-lasting pair of shoes. Can you imagine? The things we take for granted mean EVERYTHING to us here.

I am literally crying, so happy to see what God is doing. From your giving, to our hands making them, to their little feet receiving them this is LOVE in action.

We cannot wait for that big day when we will give them out. The smiles, the dancing, the joy... it will be unforgettable! Get ready!

Today as Catalyst Ministries Uganda, we celebrate and thank Almighty God for the life of Pastor Landon!

Pastor Landon Oakley, we love you so much! You have been an incredible encourager, mentor, and blessing to us. We learn so much from your life and leadership.

Thank you so much for believing in us and in Catalyst Ministries Uganda. We are truly blessed to have you and our entire Freedom Fellowship Church family be part of what God is doing here in Uganda!
