🐐 Transforming Lives Through Livestock in Nakivale Refugee Settlement
With support from , At the Association of Refugee Women in Uganda (AORW-U), we believe that sustainable livelihoods create lasting change. Through our Goat Distribution Program, 700 refugee women in Rubondo, Nakivale Refugee Settlement received 1400 goats, helping them build resilient livelihoods, improve household incomes, and strengthen food security.
More than just livestock, these goats represent hope, opportunity, and a pathway to self-reliance. With ongoing technical support and follow-up visits, women are gaining the skills needed to manage their livestock and create a better future for their families.
Together, we are empowering refugee women to move from vulnerability to prosperity.

Refugee women in Nakivale are growing more than food they are growing resilience, dignity, and hope.
Through our Kitchen Garden Program, AORW-U supports refugee women to establish small home gardens that improve household nutrition, reduce food costs, and create opportunities for income through the sale of surplus vegetables.
With practical training, seeds, mentorship, and peer support, women are learning climate-smart gardening techniques and building stronger, healthier families.
