Heart to Heart Initiative

We are a social support organisation that fights child abuse and domestic violence in Uganda.

A Non profit organization providing safe spaces free from all forms of abuse, violence and addiction in Ugandan Communities (Children, young people and Families). We offer emotional wellness services which include therapy, counselling sessions, trainings, child protection, youth survival services, family survival and Christian family ethics...

We also believe in equipping children, youths and parents with skills to enable them overcome family challenges like poverty and scarcity of resources. These skills include briquette making, making of reusable sanitary towels, electrical installation and, sewing and tailoring. Our unique child protection and family preservation services are customized to meet all people’s needs within the family setting. However we integrate environmental preservation within all our programs because we believe that healthy families have to live in healthy environments.

For six straight years, since 2020, Heart to Heart Initiative has proudly partnered with betPawa Uganda to address gaming addiction at its roots. We just concluded our annual specialized training with over 100 customer support champions, diving deep into the psychology of addiction and empathetic intervention. This was also supported by the National Lotteries and Gaming regulatory Board through their presence and participation as they contributed in the leadership of the group sessions.

Behind every struggle is someone fighting a silent battle. Whether you are living through abuse, the aftermath of violence, unresolved trauma, addiction, or overwhelming stress, you do not have to suffer in secret.

We, Heart to Heart Initiative are providing support to heal trauma, abuse, violence and addiction now because broken families are raising broken children and if we don't restore families today, Uganda will pay a much higher price tomorrow in crime, school dropouts, addiction and broken homes.

Our Computer Lab is ready to serve out-of-school youth at The Hearts and Hands Skills Centre in Kagoma!

Today, computer literacy isn't optional, it is essential for every vocational trade. We want our youth equipped with the modern tech tools they need to succeed and lead.

Special gratitude to Chop Gaming Uganda Limited T/A betPawa Uganda for their generous computer donation that kickstarted this room!

Our vision is expanding, and we are trusting God for more computers so no student is turned away.

A stitch in time transforms a life!

Our tailoring workshop is officially taking shape! As you can see in the picture below, we have set up our first few sewing machines to get things started.

Every single machine represents an out-of-school young person gaining hands-on skills, building a sustainable livelihood, and uplifting their entire family. Behind each machine will be an out-of-school youth learning practical vocational skills to earn an honest living, achieve self-sustainability, and transform the future of their family.

The need is great, and our goal is to add more sewing machines so we don't have to turn away any young person ready to learn.

Fresh paint, sawdust, and lots of hard work, the Hearts and Hands Skills Centre is truly coming alive right in Kagoma and its neighborhood!

Every wall painted and space rebuilt carries our ongoing work further, equipping out-of-school youth with practical vocational skills to boost their productivity, employability, and self-sustainability.

WE ARE SCALING UP TO ANOTHER LEVEL!
As Heart to Heart Initiative prepares to celebrate 10 years of service next year, we are taking a massive step forward by building our Vocational Skills Center for out-of-school and in-school youth in Kagoma!
To succeed, every youth training in Electrical Installation, Carpentry, Hairdressing, Tailoring, and Cooking will now also be trained in Computer Skills and Business Basics. This ensures they can confidently launch and operate their own businesses upon graduation!
A Massive Thank You with huge appreciation to Chop Gaming Limited T/a betPawa Uganda for answering our call with incredible speed! They have generously donated 6 complete computer sets (6 CPUs and 6 monitors) to jumpstart our digital labs.
