A Sad Story from Wakitaka Village – Jinja District, Uganda

Today, as Shalom Community Outreach, we visited a struggling family in Wakitaka Village, Jinja District — a humble couple whose story deeply touched our hearts.

This man and woman once had a beautiful family, but life took a painful turn when they lost all their children. Now, they are left with the heavy responsibility of caring for their grandchildren who were left behind. Despite his old age and sickness, the man moves around collecting used plastic water bottles to sell, just to earn a little money for food.

Both of them are battling diabetes and high blood pressure, conditions that make their lives even harder. Their health is weakening, and yet they still have to care for the little ones depending on them.

As Shalom Community Outreach, we managed to provide them with a few basic necessities to use for a few days — but it is not enough to sustain them for a full week. They are in urgent need of support for medical treatment, daily food, and school fees for their grandchildren.

We kindly call upon all good-hearted people to stand with this family and help restore hope in their home.
