Not every struggle is visible.

There are stories carried in silence stories of responsibility taken on too early, of strength built through hardship, and of resilience that grows in the absence of support. Across many communities in Uganda, countless women wake up each day not only as caregivers, but as providers, protectors, and decision-makers for their families.

For many single mothers and widows, the journey is not one they planned. It is often shaped by loss, abandonment, domestic violence, early marriages, and economic instability. In many cases, limited access to education and employment leaves women with little support when life changes unexpectedly.

This reality goes beyond financial hardship. It includes emotional strain, social stigma, and the constant pressure to provide in difficult circumstances. Yet, even in the face of these challenges, many women continue to rise with courage and determination.

At ChildCare Foundation, we believe that empowering a woman is one of the most powerful ways to transform a family and a community.

Through our economic empowerment programs, we support single mothers and widows with vocational skills, financial literacy, and small business opportunities. These are not just solutions for income—they are pathways to dignity, independence, and long-term stability.
When a woman is empowered, her children are more likely to stay in school, her household becomes more secure, and her community grows stronger.

Empowerment is not charity it is a foundation for lasting change.

Access to education should include every child, including children living with disabilities such as Down syndrome, Cerebral palsy and Autism.

Across Uganda, many families raising children with disabilities still lack access to early support, therapy, and inclusive education.

Organizations like ChildCare Foundation are working to ensure children with disabilities are not excluded from opportunities that can transform their lives.

Raising awareness about developmental disabilities is important in helping communities understand that these children have abilities, dreams, and potential just like any other child.

Through our education programs and community support initiatives, we are working toward a society where no child is left behind.

Children Should Be in School Not Walking Long Distances for Water

In many communities around Masese and the surrounding areas in Jinja, access to clean and safe water is still a challenge. Every day, children like these spend time fetching water for their families instead of focusing fully on their education and well-being.

At ChildCare Foundation, we work to support vulnerable families, improve living conditions, and create opportunities for children to grow, learn, and stay healthy.
Clean water is not just about drinking, it prevents disease, protects children, and supports entire communities.

With the support of partners and donors, we aim to expand community support initiatives including safe water access, education support, and empowerment programs for families.

A small contribution can make a real difference:

Sometimes hope arrives quietly…..but its impact lasts a lifetime.

Across many communities, children grow up facing barriers that make education feel like a distant dream. Yet when support, compassion, and opportunity come together, something powerful begins to happen, confidence grows, futures start to take shape and young lives are reminded that they matter.

At ChildCare Foundation, we are deeply committed to creating pathways for vulnerable children to access quality education and the opportunities they deserve. This journey is not one we walk alone.

Sometimes the biggest challenges in our communities are the ones we see every day but rarely stop to talk about.

A growing reality in our communities… young girls becoming mothers too soon.

This is Nakato. Like many others, she became a mother at just 13 years old. Instead of being in school with her friends, she now carries responsibilities most children are not ready for.

Her story is not only about one girl, it reflects what many families quietly face in communities where poverty, limited guidance, and lack of opportunities make young girls more vulnerable to early pregnancy.

But what is really causing it? And what can actually stop it?
