CHALLENGES OF MIRRORS OF HOPE FOUNDATION
Food shortage. We are always facing a problem of food shortages wherby we don't have our own garden to grow food and we don't have one to buy us . We depend on small local donations for survival.
Poor medication. At our orphage we have 4 children battling with HIV Aids but because we don't have any source of income we can't afford to buy drugs. Even the government which used to help stopped due completely to high demands.
Poor clothing. This comes in a way that many of our children don't have what to put on , shoes and others like beddings , mattresses, blankets, bed sheets and mosquito nets.
Lack of education . There is lack of education because the children are many and we don't any source of income where we can get money to educate them. So this has been a great challenge because our children can't read and write and we also want to teach them bible readings but they don't understand English.
Lack of essential equipments is pads . Many of our girls at the home have started experiencing their menstruations periods but since we are poor we can't buy them pads so they have resorted to leaves and clothes to handle the situation.
Lack of sports items . At times of leisure our children lack what to use while playing. We lack balls for both girls and boys , toys , ropes and sports wear .
Lack of scholastic materials . Inadequate beddings given that the number of children is high we lack enough beds where our children can sleep. Books, pencils, pens, bags fees for our children.
Lack of a project van. At our orphanage we lack a van that can reduce on our transport costs. In bringing food at the home , transporting children to and from school, taking them to hospital and leisure.
Lack of source of income hence depending on donations.
Challenge of rent. Given that the place where we stay is not ours we therefore get challenges with renting costs that are high .
