Three other sweethearts are waiting for their forever long-distance parent, and - most importantly - one-time donations.
The smileys:
Red shirt: Yakuty, a 7-year-old boy, recently visited by the tooth-fairy;
Green shirt, bright smile: Rayan, shy: 4-year-old boy
The girl who is not smiling: Babirye Shamirah. She is a teenager with a complex (read: tr.a.gic) story. She lost her parents, and then she lost her sponsor to the land from where no one ever returns (so to speak, in order to avoid algorithm penalties)
If you can, favour Shamirah.

Oh my gosh, they are just so beautiful! How could I spare even one minute of effort when they deserve so much?
The children are present in my mind all the time. Thus, I do not know the notion of "time off".

I just can't have enough of her. She is ALWAYS so happy, always laughing, despite life's challenges (she is disabled), she is AMAZING!
Just another proof that all lives matter!

📷I DON'T KNOW HOW TO POSE 📷..That's alright, girls, you do not have to. You just sit tight, we are going to take care of you.
But the thig is, without glamour photos, people really do not see them. We don't have time for photo-shoots. We just take a picture and then we work hard to ensure them a long-distance parent.
They do not have much luck, these girls - but they are URGENT cases and they need one-time donations soon - these girls HAVEN'T EATEN in some time.
MININA - red shirt - she is 9 years old
MARAH - light blue blouse - 10 years old
Both need URGENT food.

AINEBYONA
This beautiful sweetheart, barely 3 years old, sadly no longer has support. We do not know what happened - sponsor just stopped replying. We wish them well and hope that everything is alright...
If you wish to take care of this beautiful human being, Ainebyona, by being her long-distance parent, just send a message 🙏

GAVA
I don't know if you remember this child - we worked on his case two years ago. This boy had a huuge, huge gro.wth in his face, the size of a... ball, that was completely engulfing his skull, having already destroyed his face, mandible, cheek bones and teeth.
We had slowly fundraised and covered costs of surgery and treatment, and this boy is today ca.ncer-free!
However, there have been side effects of this. The complex surgery had affected a lot of delicate facial nerves, making him very sensitive and prone to many infections. To this day, he has some difficulty eating.
His eye-sight had also progressively deteriorated, so I wanted to understand what is going on. Turns out... it is cataract and he requires yet another surgery.
The surgery is not expensive, and I will pay for it. However, this boy no longer has a long distance parent, and it is heartbreaking because he is a very smart boy.
All the travellers (Daphine, Gavamukulya, his grandpa and my colleague Mugoya) ate a tasty lunch together, yummy! Eating out on Tororo occasions.
A precious watercolor painting (gifted to HOCT by my beloved teacher Tenzin Gendun, in the hopes that it will help somehow) is available and it will be offered to the person that sponsors Gava's food for this year.
Any other generous donations for him, that will exceed 100 euros, will also receive beautiful paintings (I have more). Maybe he will be able to return to school.

I cherish Kabagambe.
A short while ago, he came to our office and wrote to his sponsor:
Now I am big, I can work!
Help someone small!
It diesn't get any better than that.

Help One Child Thrive is a charity organization taking care of orphans and needy children located in Idudi, Uganda, East Africa. These children lost their parents (some died of HIV/AIDS and others died of other common diseases so they left children with no one to help and care for; others live with their grandparents who are also living below poverty line and who cannot provide basic necessities to these children. Going to school was, for many of them, an impossible dream.
The founder of Help One Child Thrive, Mugoya Swaliki, also grew up as an orphan; he had witnessed and experienced the hard life of those children and since he knew what it meant to be an orphan, he built HOCT organisation to save these children from poverty, to help them live a better life and fulfil their dreams. To help them thrive.
Our areas of activity
- We raise school fees to enable these children to attend school;
- We provide them with medical treatment in case they fall sick;
- We involve them in penpalling activities where they write letters to friends around the world;
- We teach them a foreign language and make sure that they practice it with friends from abroad through live chats;
- We offer professional and spiritual guidance and counselling to them
Our future work plan
- Buying a piece of land and building a fully-functional orphanage where all children in bad situations will be accommodated;
- Drilling boreholes and building functional wells which will provide clean water for the community;
- Building a school where all children will receive education at lower costs;
- Setting up a medical centre where we shall provide cost-free treatment to our children
Join us and help us transform this dream into reality!
