That is not just a number.
In 2025 alone, 4,346 people walked through our doors in Jinja seeking help after violence.
Among them were:
β€’ 428 children who had been defiled
β€’ 663 women facing domestic violence
β€’ 40 r**e survivors
β€’ 100 cases that required court medical testimony
Imagine being one of them.
Imagine moving from a police station to a hospital… from a hospital to court… from court back home carrying trauma, fear, and stigma.
Survivors should not have to fight systems while fighting pain.
That is why ROCAF is strengthening a 24/7 One-Stop Crisis Centre in Jinja so survivors receive medical care, counselling, protection, and justice under one roof.
The increase in documented cases reflects improved community trust and reporting ,not increased violence.
Violence thrives in silence, Healing begins with access, Stand with survivors & Share this message.

Friends, I’m personally involved in this fundraiser to support GBV survivors in Uganda.
Even $5 or sharing helps save lives. πŸ’œ

Hello Friends,
Survivors of Gender-Based Violence in Jinja, Uganda often don’t get help in time because services are scattered. These delays have always led to HIV infection, unwanted pregnancy, disability, severe trauma, and even death.

We are raising funds to build a One-Stop GBV Crisis Center where survivors can access Timely, Effective & Coordinated Survivor Centered Services.

To kick-start this work, we are seeking 200 people to give just $5 to raise $1,000 in 10 days. This first $1,000 will help prepare survivor care spaces, support emergency response, and build momentum for larger support.

This campaign is hosted by Group 36 (U.S. 501(c)(3)), making donations secure and tax-deductible, while implementation happens on the ground in Uganda.

The Romic Care Foundation, in collaboration with several dedicated charity organizations, recently hosted a powerful summit aimed at empowering young women and youth within our communities. This event was designed to highlight the significant impact that acquiring practical skills can have on personal growth and community development. Throughout the summit, participants were encouraged to explore simple yet effective entrepreneurial opportunities and small jobs that can help them generate income, reduce poverty, and build sustainable livelihoods.

Our speakers and facilitators emphasized the importance of skills development as a key driver for economic independence. They inspired the youth to take initiative, be creative, and leverage their talents to improve their living standards. The event also created a supportive environment where young people could share ideas, experiences, and challenges, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.

In addition to economic empowerment, the summit prioritized health education, with a special focus on HIV/AIDS prevention. Participants were informed about the risks, prevention methods, and the importance of making informed decisions to protect their health and future. The discussions encouraged open dialogue, breaking down stigma and promoting a culture of support and awareness. Young women and youth were urged to stay vigilant, practice safe behaviors, and encourage their peers to do the same.

This summit was a milestone in our ongoing commitment to uplift and empower the next generation. It demonstrated how knowledge, skills, and health awareness can work hand-in-hand to create lasting change in communities.

Romic Care Foundation invites everyoneβ€”individuals, volunteers, partners, and well-wishersβ€”to join us in continuing this important work. Together, we can expand our reach, empower more young people, and build resilient, healthy, and prosperous communities for all.

Romic Care Foundation, in partnership with several committed charity organizations, successfully hosted an impactful Skilling Summit in Jinja City aimed at empowering young women with practical knowledge and opportunities for a better future. The summit equipped participants with hands-on skills designed to strengthen their economic independence and open doors to new possibilities.

Alongside skilling, we emphasized health awarenessβ€”especially the importance of protecting themselves from HIV/AIDS. Through open conversations and mentorship, we encouraged young women to make informed decisions that safeguard their health, dreams, and long-term well-being. Their enthusiasm and dedication showed us the incredible potential that emerges when young women are supported and guided.

Romic Care Foundation remains committed to uplifting communities through skills development, health education, and transformative outreach programs. But our work grows stronger with the support of people like you. We invite partners, well-wishers, and community members to join us in empowering even more young women.

Be part of the change.

🌍 Every Step Saves a Life: πŸ’œ
The Problem
In Jinja and surrounding districts in Uganda, over 50% of Survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) do not access timely, integrated, and effective support services. Hence often forced to navigate a fragmented support system moving from police stations to hospitals and back, then to legal offices and so forth frequently alone and without psychosocial support. This disjointed approach not only retraumatizes survivors but also severely delays justice and healing. These delays can be even fatal, a case in point is a 16years old girl who was Pressured into an unsafe abortion, sought help but instead of urgent care, she was delayed by broken systems, stigma, and fear. By the time she reached a hospital, it was too late. Her death could have been prevented if a One-Stop Crisis Centre had existed.
Our Solution
Romic Care Foundation (ROCAF) is building a One-Stop GBV Crisis Centre, a safe Place open 24/7 where survivors will find: βœ… Urgent medical care within hours, not daysβœ… Psychosocial counseling for healingβœ… Temporary safe shelter and protectionβœ… Legal aid to pursue justiceβœ… Reintegration support to rebuild lives
πŸ‘‰ No more running in circles. One door. One team. Immediate help.
The Campaign:
We’re inviting you to turn solidarity into action:
πŸƒ Run/Walk 4 km in honor of survivors
πŸ’° Donate any amount you can
πŸ‘₯ Nominate 4 friends to join
πŸ“² Share your photo/video with .

πŸ‘‰ This challenge will culminate in a Big Community Run/Walk on 13/DEC/2025 which is the grand finale bringing together all people who have been doing the in their Homes, schools, churches, mosques, businesses, WhatsApp groups or companies to break the silence on GBV.
Our Goal
We aim to raise $178,900 by 30th/April/ 2026, to run the Centre for its first year, launching a 5-year pilot project to serve thousands of survivors.
