VISSION

To get disadvantaged children from hazardous to succeeding. THE BACKGROU
ND OF THE VISION
The infant group in the Ugandan society is perhaps the largest worldwide .In the last couple of decades ,the Ugandan government has come up with several approaches that have reduced infant mortality rate considerably .that in itself is a good thing that deserves round of applause .this has been achieved through initiatives like immunization against the six killer diseases among others that the Ugandan government together with other partners such as Rotary International ,USAID ,WHO have done a tremendous job to discontinue infant death considerably . However much as that has been overcome, there are new challenges in relation to the numbers of infants that have emerged largely because the trait of polygamy and generally a desire to have as many children as possible among Ugandans is alive. In typical Ugandan home stead socio-economic ability not withstanding, it is common to find children in tens. Of course this deserves an applause because children are a gift from the almighty God and indeed for those families with the means socio-economically, this is just okay because in Africa the future security let alone status of a given home stead is always attached those children. In the past, quality did not use to matter but of late the element of quality of the children is beginning to be considered and this is trying to check on the quantity only that this is largely in the educated group of society who unfortunately are the minority therefore, their action may serve as a good example to the majority but still the impact is always over ridden by the majority who are un educated and primitive. Coupled with above is another challenge in line with relevance of the education programs in Uganda. Presently the education here from infantry to tertiary level is largely tailored towards theory and very limited practice, this does not serve to redeem the situation of those multitudes of infants because they spend a lot of time in school learning theory which does not necessarily progress them socio-economically, since they don’t acquire the relevant skills that are compatible to the social order they are operating in. Another tool to come to the rescue would their natural abilities in areas such as arts and sports but still the school environment let alone that domestically are all not compatible to those unique abilities in the children. For instance we are talking about a family with an absentee father who then is the child going to rely on to instruct them in either arts or sports let alone buy them the facilities? The mother is busy attending to the newly born let alone go to the garden to cultivate food with the newly born on her back. That is the kind of situation we are dealing with. Who then is in command of these other infants in the home stead? The answer is none; they are basically going through life day after day. WHY CHILDREN? There is no doubt in reference to the background above that there is a genuine need for intervention on behalf of the children in a community of a kind. Non privileged children are always innocent fellows who do not have to be condemned for anything since they are not part to the decision that brings them to the world, they just basically find themselves on earth either in good or bad conditions, it is for that simple reason that initiatives intended to reach out to the under privileged group of children are necessary and that is where we find ourselves as well. It is that genuine need to gap up events that drives us beyond even our own limits especially in the socio-economic perspective in pursuit of a bright future for the world. Indeed we already have a couple interventions we are engaged in already in line with the mission at hand only that we believe we shall even create a lot much more impact if we had likeminded partners in our support. That is the most important reason why we chose to document our vision since we believe it is the best way to conserve it. Let alone share it with as many as possible. We can’t accomplish this important work alone, we need committed individuals who will stand with us and support the work of Children promise-Uganda (CPU) SECTION B. OBJECTIVES/AIMS. We have many objectives but the fundamental one is surely to transform lives of the under privileged infants. Our specific objectives are;
To bridge the gap between parents and their children in order to foster family cohesion.
To ensure that children especially those in our jurisdiction go to school in order to have them empowered intellectually.
To promote a spirit of fellowship with the God among children in order to raise a generation of God fearing people.
To identify and nurture natural talents of the respective children in to give them a wide range of options to settle for as a career in future.
To check on the mal-nourishment among the infants by providing a balanced diet feeding regime to those within our jurisdiction in order to enhance their health.
To foster community transformations by empowering the infants in turn influencing the behavior for their respective parents.
To promote a child health through a comprehensive community initiatives. SECTION C
OUR CORE VALUES
Education: To give a chance to education, here we open the future for the children. Education is the difference between failure and success, the difference between poverty and plenty. Without education it is hard to get a job and without a job, a mother, father can’t feed their children. When parents can’t support their families, the family unit breaks up hence street children. Let’s give a chance to as many in the world as we can. Feeding: When we open doors to education, we found out that although a lot of children come to learn many could only sleep in class because of the hunger in the empty stomachs, when we feed them, they begin to breath the poor performance, delayed development changes into the brightest students when they receive proper nutrition. If you can’t feed a hundred, feed one. Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him,” go I wish you well, keep warm and well fed but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? JAMES.2:15ff.”
Discipleship: If our goal is to see children from difficult backgrounds to succeed, all the food and education will leave them wanting. Jesus is the only way to succeed, he is the one who puts dreams in their hearts, and He is the one who holds their tomorrow in his hands. “The fear of the Lord is beginning of wisdom” psalms 111:10a. Raise children in the way they should go. Community transformation: Where you live shouldn’t determine whether you blossom or fail. We can end this, if we eliminate the conditions that lead to poverty and brokenness, we believe we will see the entire community set free. Family care: we are determined to helping families spring again and allowing the underprivileged children to stay in their homes keeping the family together.
