our major objective is to promote environmental conservation awareness, restore fragmented forests within the Albertine region and participate in tree planting campaigns, advocate for a sustainable use of forests and climate smart agriculture through trainings as well as implementing donor funded projects among others.

we are also managing a tree nursery for indigenous tree species i.e, mahogany spp, cordia mellenii, maesopsis eminii, crosophylla albida, fantumia ellastica among others that will be supplied to the local communities adjascent to fragmented forests in the region.

climate alert and forest conservation trust is working is developing a project concept in the albertine graben that is working to promote a local tree species, combretum collinum, a savanah woodland tree species which has a fast growing characteristic, it produces high quality charcoal that burns much more time compared to other tree species, its firewood dries fast and take long time burning more so with the improved fire cooking and charcoal stoves, it has the ability to regenerate when cut. this tree has good conservation benefits and we hope it will help in the conservation of our environment hence mitigating climate change due to its broad leaves, it harbor a number of bird nests due to its close canopy and in homesteads, farmers prefer it in the growing of passion fruits due to its low height.
