Standing in Solidarity with Vulnerable Refugee Families
At JOCE-NET (Joint Community Empowerment Network for Refugees), we remain committed to supporting the most vulnerable members of our community.
Recently, our team conducted a humanitarian outreach in Kyangwali Refugee Settlement, reaching 20 vulnerable households with essential support aimed at easing daily challenges faced by refugee families.
This initiative reflects our belief that community-driven action can restore dignity, strengthen resilience, and inspire hope among displaced populations.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Prosper Musekura Family for their generous support in making this initiative possible.
Together, we continue to stand for human dignity, compassion, and community empowerment.

Empowering Refugee Women and Girls Through Skills & Resilience 🌍✨
JOCE-NET recently conducted a follow-up visit in Mombasa Village, Kyangwali Refugee Settlement, after training refugee women and girls in VSLA groups on soap making using locally available resources.
The women shared their joy and pride, noting that they never expected to be able to produce soap independently with resources found within their environment. The training has boosted their confidence, skills, and hope for economic self-reliance even in displacement.
However, the group also highlighted a key challenge—limited production capacity, which restricts their ability to meet the growing demand for their products. This points to the need for continued support, tools, and scaling opportunities to strengthen their livelihoods.
At JOCE-NET, we remain committed to empowering refugee women and girls with practical skills that promote dignity, resilience, and sustainable livelihoods.

Joint Community Empowerment Network for Refugees (JOCE-NET) successfully trained two community groups of women and men in Kyangwali Refugee Settlement in the production of liquid and bar soap, alongside financial literacy training.
The training applied innovative manufacturing techniques using locally available resources and strengthened participants’ capacity to:
Produce quality liquid and bar soap for household and commercial use
Apply basic financial literacy skills, including budgeting, saving, and record-keeping
Enhance income-generation opportunities and economic self-reliance
Through inclusive and practical capacity-building initiatives, JOCE-NET continues to advance sustainable livelihoods and resilient refugee communities.
