Tamarind is a Community Based Self sustainability Organization, that works with and trains the communities who have been affected by war to change their mentality, which has been for a long time, that some one else has to come and solve or fix their problems. During the war there were over five hundred NGOs in Gulu alone but the people's problems have not be solved just because they were not invol

ved in the processes of such programs and they did not take ownership of it. Now the NGOs have left, the communities and back to terrible poverty amidst peace that they have experienced for the last five years.There in no hope for a nation if you do not teach them how to fish by giving them hooks instead of fish.
