lt was an inspiring moment as we witnesses dedicated and hard working youth who received start up of chickens progressing very well. This was through the follow up visits that we conducted to the youth who received support in few weeks ago.
This follow up as provided us opportunity to identify challenges ,offer practical solution and reinforce our commitment to continuous mentorship and provide technical support.
let support youth to earn a living,improve household income, creat employment and enhance food security in our communities.

Congratulations candidates upon completion of the six months training. Today marked the six month training of candidates who were being trained in apiary, piggery, poultry in western region especially in Kasese, kyegegwa, kabarole, fort portal. As one way to curb unemployment in the region students have been undergoing informal trainings in the above trades as we equip them with practical skills,soft skills Which can help them to earn a living and change the social, economic well being.
These students were assessed as one way to measure the achievement and
progress which was done by Uvtab. we hope for the best from what was done and after completion they will be supported with the minimum start up. let's reduces unemployment among vulnerable youth ,KDFA,Yawe,VSF Uganda.

Briefing of candidates for the upcoming Uvtab exams.ln this process much emphasis was put on the cutting lists that were provided for each enterprise thus apiary, poultry, piggery. every candidate was put on the same page on the procedures and what is needed in terms of items, materials and tools.they were able to do some practical session as one way of building confidence .

It was a great day as youth in first cohort of training in poultry keeping received the start up of chickens and the starters feeds. Due to ebola outbreak in the region, we continued to train and create ebola awareness campaign the community especially the students under training across our area of operation in five districts.key message was on washing hands with soap,avoid contact with sick people ,high fever and body weakness, sanitizing and early reporting of any case with the above symptoms to the health worker. let's stop the spread of ebola together.
further more we provided sanitizer and other detergents to every training centers.

We have continued to provide community health services near to the people. with the support of the community health workers, local leaders who act as ambassadors in the community. over 120 community members were reached during the outreaches that we had in nyakitojo and futi. services rendered included family planning, HIV testing and counseling, general body check-up, immunization.

At YAWE foundation We teach a man to fish as opposed to giving him fish. I was truly impressed by the strong motivation and dedication shown by our trainees under the WeWork Project during the piggery and poultry training in Kigorane, Migogingwe Sub-county, Kyegegwa District. Did you know that Vaccination reduces child and infant morality rate if no doze is missed. Our medical team was able t conduct one immunisation outreach in one of the remote area in fort portal Northern where by it was able to provide immunization services under reach every district,reach every children (RED/REC) a strategy developed by MOH in Uganda.
further we integrated in more services such as family planning , nutritional assessment and guidance, EMTCT services to mother's . thanks to the team and partner for making thei cause in making a health free community
