Further more, We hosted an interactive panel discussion with student leaders, creating a safe and open space for dialogue. Students raised thoughtful questions ranging from why we care about animals to common concerns and misconceptions about plant-based food systems.

Through this conversation, we explored the ethical, environmental, and health reasons behind plant-based living, while also debunking widespread myths around nutrition, affordability, and accessibility.

The discussion was insightful, honest, and empowering leaving many student leaders better informed and more confident to champion plant-based choices among their peers.

These conversations are key to driving mindset change and building a more compassionate and sustainable campus community.

During the session, all participants were treated to a variety of delicious, nutritious plant-based meals thoughtfully prepared by Tasone Food Clinic, the only restaurant located within the campus premises. The meals not only energized the participants but also demonstrated how accessible and enjoyable plant-based eating can be.

Beyond the workshop, we took a significant step forward through direct engagement with the restaurant management. We are excited to share that Tasone Food Clinic committed to subsidizing the cost of plant-based meals for students who enroll in the semester feeding program.

This commitment is a big win for students making plant-based options more affordable and accessible, while encouraging a shift toward healthier and more sustainable food choices on campus.

We continued to scale the Plant-Powered Campus Campaign, a cost effective intervention to promote sustainable food systems and end factory farming.

This time, we engaged 40 student leaders at Metropolitan International University – Kampala campus through an interactive workshop focused on the significance of plant-based food systems for climate action, health, and sustainability.

With a student population of over 5,000 across diverse academic programs, the university presents both a great opportunity and a complex challenge. To effectively create impact at this scale, we adopted a train-the-trainer approach equipping student leaders with the knowledge and tools they need to become champions of change.

These trained leaders will now take the lead in inspiring their peers to embrace more plant-based diets, creating a ripple effect across the campus community.

Together, we are building a new generation of conscious consumers and climate advocates one campus at a time.

Exciting news!

For 6 weeks from 7th February to 21st March 2026, We advanced our plant powered campus campaign, a cost effective and scalable intervention to empower a future free from animal cruelty through educating 40 leaders from the 8 different student associations at Metropolitan International University Kampala campus, and encourage them to influence their fellows on experiencing plant based foods, as well as the securing the institutional change towards plant based diet.

In that spirit, we’re excited to host our in-person Plant-Powered Campus Workshop at Metropolitan International University – Kampala Campus

This workshop marks a major milestone in building a strong, informed community ready to take action for animals, health, and the planet among the university students in Uganda.

On 23rd December 2025, we held a successful workshop with local leaders and senior citizens in Entebbe as part of our efforts to promote plant-powered Christmas holiday celebrations. The workshop took place at the residence of Hajji Kikomeko, a respected senior citizen and the Councilor representing elders on the Entebbe Municipal Council.

During the workshop, local leaders were served a variety of nutritious plant-based meals, demonstrating how delicious, satisfying, and culturally adaptable plant-based foods can be. In my address, I highlighted the importance of embracing a plant-based diet and emphasized the need for municipal-level policies that promote plant-based foods for the benefit of the environment, public health, and animal welfare. I also took time to debunk common myths surrounding plant-based food systems, particularly the misconception that they lack essential nutrients needed for healthy life processes.

In his remarks, the Deputy Mayor of Entebbe Division B expressed strong support for the initiative and committed to encouraging fellow councilors to table a policy requiring all 12 schools under Entebbe Municipal Council to utilize their school gardens to grow vegetables for children. This step would greatly support child nutrition, food security, environment protection, and practical food education.
