How to Learn to Speak for God
Me-we-God-you-we
An Ambassador is one who speaks for another.
In the Bible, an Ambassador is an Official Representative of a Government or King. The word is used in both the Old & New Testaments.
Me-
For me - to speak for God, I must know Him and communion with Him daily.
The LORD God had to teach me how to hear His voice and obey Him. Just as He taught Moses!
Exodus 4:15-16 “Talk to him and put the words in his mouth. I will be with both of you as you speak, and I will instruct you both in what to do. Aaron will be your spokesman to the people. He will be your mouthpiece, and you will stand in the place of God for him, telling him what to say.”
Ambassadors represent God around the word promoting salvation, peace, love, and recruiting people for the mission.
We-
Maybe today you find yourself wanting to know more about the Lord, but you are having a hard time in life.
Imagine you are in the Garden of Eden and the Lord shows up? So, what do you do when He calls your name?
Now nothing takes the Lord by surprise, and He knew where the man and his woman were – and He knows where you are too…you cannot hide from the Lord!
Genises 3:8-9 “When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the LORD God walking about in the garden. So, they hid from the LORD God among the trees. Then the LORD God called to the ‘man,’ “Where are you?”
God-
1Peter 4:10-11 “God has given each of you a gift from His great variety of Spiritual Gifts. Use them well to serve one another. Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.”
The Lord is always speaking, and He wants you to learn how to hear from Him - for yourself.
Oracle -a: a person (such as a priestess of ancient Greece) through whom a deity is believed to speak.
Exodus 7:1 “Then the LORD said to Moses, “Pay close attention to this. I will make you seem like God to Pharaoh, and your brother, Aaron, will be your prophet.”
God called you and appointed you an Ambassador to all the nations.
1: an Official Envoy
especially: a Diplomatic Agent of the highest rank accredited to a foreign government or sovereign as the resident representative of his or her own government or sovereign or appointed for a special and often temporary diplomatic assignment.
2a: an Authorized Representative or Messenger (Jesus has authorized us to represent Him here).
You-
God wants to give you ‘Life-giving Words’ so you can pass them on to others - thereby you become an Oracle of God - He speaks through you!
Acts 7:38 “Moses was with our ancestors, the assembly of God’s people in the wilderness, when the angel spoke to him at Mount Sinai. And there Moses received life-giving words to pass on to us.”
We-
We, the Church, want people to come to know Jesus and follow Him.
Jeremaiah 23:21-22 “I have not sent these prophets, yet they run around claiming to speak for Me. I have given them no message, yet they go on prophesying. If they had stood before Me and listened to Me, they would have spoken My Words, and they would have turned My people from their evil ways and deeds.”
As Pastors and Disciples we turn people back to Him - for they have fallen away from the Truth.
John 6:63 “The Spirit alone gives Eternal Life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are Spirit and Life.”
As Ambassadors for Christ, we have been given all the protections and blessings of an Ambassador - so that we can do the work God has assigned to us.
