Our Executive Director Kenyi Emmanuel is being accepted to the Peace building program of the Afro Arab youth council in Sudan. He will be joining other enthusiastic peace builders around the world, expounding lived experiences, exchanging knowledge and sharing best practices in contemporary peace building approaches.

We applause the Afro Arab youth council for the technical selection ensuring refugee leadership is part and parcel in sustaining peace building outcomes.

We had a 5 days in-person capacity strengthening training on gender and development, followed by project presentation sessions on varied gender responsive projects at SS hotel in Kampala. this followed an initial selection,and online engagement, onboarding in January 2026.

This is an initiative of the Michigan African fellows iniative, Makerere university funded by and the university of # ICELAND.

Let's watch the space as the project presentations materialize into actionable community iniatives.

Nov 27th, we held a constructive discussion on the situational update and needs of children with disabilities in Imvepi Refugee settlement. As an organization working to improve better learning outcomes of all children, we shared our work on inclusive community play based interventions.
This has been organized under the CHANCE project implemented by in terego district.

Our programs officer, Mr. Sebit has been for a week long capacity enhancement training on WASH in Arua organised by UWASNET and CAWST.
He shared our commitment in advancing better community health outcomes, including access to menstrual health materials and products for Adolescent girls and young women.

We are so much intentional in advancing better adolescent health outcomes within our organization.
Earlier today, our programs team held a constructive session on adolescent sexual reproductive health rights including the access to better menstrual hygiene management materials, puberty and the right for informed choices at bidi primary school in terego district.
Together we are unlocking menstrual myths, challenging gender and social norms around access to and utilization of SRHR services among young people.
This has been possible through the generous support from under the project.

Earlier today 04th/08/2025, our programs team under the health empowered youth for resilient and better community health outcomes project ( HEYO) conducted an adolescent sexuality education session at udupi primary school in terego district.
The conversation was centered on adolescent sexual reproductive health rights, GBV and menstrual health management at school level.
Together, we are enhancing better adolescent health outcomes, challenging stereotypes around child marriage.
We applause Uganda for funding this initiative.

Earlier today our programs team had been conducting grassroots dialogues on teenage pregnancy and early marriage at yinga and utumbari parish, bringing a wide spectrum of leaders from the community to dialogue and lay strategies to tackle teenage pregnancy and early marriages. we applause the leadership of utumbari parish for the warm reception, and participation in these discussions.

25th April, 2025 under the health empowered youth for resilient and better community outcomes (HEYO) project, we conducted sexuality education targeting SRHR clubs at iyau primary school in odupi sub-county, Terego district. The goal was to confront myths around menstrual health, create demand for SRHR services amongst young people and to enhance retention of adolescent girls in educational institutions while tackling root causes of teenage pregnancies and early marriage.
