Dear Stakeholders,
As you may be aware the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF) has a mandate to provide an enabling policy environment for stakeholders in the agriculture sector and has a mission to transform the sector from subsistence farming to commercial agriculture. In the ex*****on of its mandate, the Government through MAAIF has an obligation to promote best practices in vanilla production and strengthen the vanilla value chain.
For the past three years, the Ministry has declared vanilla harvest dates in a bid to improve the quality of the crop and promote Uganda's global position as the leading source of high-quality vanilla.
As a practice, MAAIF has organized a virtual stakeholders meeting on Setting the Vanilla Harvest Date for Second Season 2021 to take place on Monday 13th, December, 2021 starting at 11:00 -1:00pm.
