RED-NET, represented by Field Coordinator Isaac Yakani, actively and successfully participated in the financial literacy event organized by the Bank of Uganda. Facilitated by Voice of Restoration International, a Financial Literacy Training of Trainers (ToT) was successfully conducted in partnership with key stakeholders committed to community empowerment and economic development.
The training brought together a diverse group of participants, including business leaders, financial institutions, community representatives, civil society organizations, youth leaders—including RED-NET, represented by our Field Coordinator—all dedicated to advancing financial literacy and fostering economic resilience within their communities.
Participants gained practical knowledge in areas such as personal financial management, savings, loan management, investment, insurance, retirement planning, financial service providers, and community financial empowerment. The training also served as a platform to facilitate networking, collaboration, mentorship, and the development of strategic partnerships aimed at expanding financial literacy outreach.
Voice of Restoration International gratefully acknowledges the support of partners, including the Bank of Uganda, Uganda Financial Literacy Association (UFLA), National Social Security Fund (NSSF), Arua City leadership, the business community, facilitators, and the media—whose support was instrumental in the success of this initiative. The organization remains committed to fostering financially empowered and resilient communities across Arua City and beyond.

Today, the RED-NET Field Coordinator attended the MUKASA Handover Ceremony at Muni University and delivered a key message emphasizing the importance of self-discipline among students and young leaders.

During the remarks, participants were encouraged to uphold strong personal values, act responsibly in their communities, and respect the laws of the Republic of Uganda. The message highlighted that discipline and respect for national laws are essential foundations for responsible leadership and sustainable community development.

We appreciate the warm engagement from the university community and congratulate the new MUKASA leadership team on their roles. Together, we continue to promote responsible citizenship and positive youth leadership.

RELON Uganda Empowers Refugee Leaders ⚖️

This week in Arua, 45 Refugee-Led Organization leaders are taking part in RELON Uganda’s 3-day intensive training:
"Knowing, Claiming, and Defending Refugee Rights"

RED-NET is proudly represented by our Executive Director, joining fellow RLO leaders to share experiences and master legal + advocacy tools for championing refugee rights across Uganda.

The training strengthens community leadership on:
✅ Rights under Uganda’s Refugees Act 2006 & Constitution
✅ Access to work, education, health, and freedom of movement
✅ Practical advocacy for settlements and host communities
✅ Refugee-led solutions for protection and self-reliance

We celebrate the leadership and resilience of RLOs driving change from within.

We were thrilled to have our Executive Director, Mr. Ayume Francis, represent us at the Civil Society, Media, and Community Town Hall Meeting in Arua City! 😊

The event, organized by ACAV Uganda at Heritage Courts, brought together stakeholders to discuss urban forced displacement in Arua City. Discussions highlighted the lack of legal recognition for secondary cities hosting self-settling refugees, hindering planning and service delivery for Displacement Affected Communities.

Despite challenges, Arua City was commended for its progressive refugee integration efforts and inclusive urban development. The city's enabling environment for civil society participation was also applauded. We're proud to champion inclusive cities and sustainable solutions alongside our partners.
