📢 Відкрито конкурсний відбір громад!

ALDA – Європейська асоціація місцевої демократії за підтримки Програми «U-LEAD з Європою» запрошує територіальні громади взяти участь у проєкті «Розширення можливостей місцевих органів влади та громадян для сприяння відкритій взаємодії та жіночому лідерству».

Ми шукаємо 16 територіальних громад із:
📍 Вінницької
📍 Дніпропетровської
📍 Житомирської
📍 Запорізької
📍 Одеської
📍 Полтавської
📍 Рівненської
📍 Харківської областей.

Учасники проєкту отримають:
✅ експертну підтримку з розробки або оновлення Статуту громади;
✅ навчання та розвиток спроможності;
✅ підтримку у впровадженні механізмів громадської участі;
✅ можливість реалізувати місцеві громадські ініціативи;
✅ обмін досвідом з українськими та міжнародними партнерами.

До участі запрошуються громади з населенням до 50 000 мешканців, які прагнуть розвивати місцеву демократію, відкрите врядування та жіноче лідерство.

💡 Учасники отримають навчання, експертну підтримку для розробки або оновлення Статуту громади, допомогу у впровадженні сучасних механізмів громадської участі та можливість обмінюватися досвідом з українськими й міжнародними партнерами.

📍 До участі запрошуються громади з населенням до 50 тисяч мешканців із Вінницької, Дніпропетровської, Житомирської, Запорізької, Одеської, Полтавської, Рівненської та Харківської областей.

📢 Have ideas to make your municipality more open, engage residents in decision-making, and strengthen women's leadership?

ALDA, with the support of U-LEAD with Europe, invites municipalities from eight regions of Ukraine to join the project "Empowering Local Authorities and Citizens to Foster Open Interaction and Women's Leadership."

💡 Participants will benefit from tailored training, expert support in developing or updating their Municipal Charter, guidance on introducing modern citizen participation mechanisms, and opportunities to exchange experiences with Ukrainian and international partners.

📍 The call is open to municipalities with a population of up to 50,000 residents in Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, and Kharkiv regions.

🇺🇦🏛️ A new office in Kyiv: strengthening ALDA’s presence in Ukraine

ALDA marks a key moment in its longstanding presence in Ukraine: on 26 May 2026, the new Kyiv office officially opened with a participatory and networking event. 🤝✨

The occasion became an inspiring moment to reaffirm and strengthen the shared commitment to supporting the Ukrainian people and institutions, while celebrating the close cooperation between Ukraine and ALDA through a remarkable photo exhibition. 📸🇺🇦

Organised on the margins of the Summit of Cities and Regions in Kyiv, the event brought together ALDA partners and members, including representatives from: City of Gdańsk ; the City of Mariupol; Kharkiv Regional Council; Zhytomyr City Council; Slavutych Town Council; Bonate Sopra Municipality; Bergamo Municipality; Embassy of Italy to Ukraine; LDA Kharkiv; LDA Vinnytsia; Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH (U-LEAD); French Development Agency (Agence Française de Développement); UNDP; All-Ukrainian Association of Amalgamated Territorial Communities; Organisation “Congress of Self-Government of Ukraine“; Open Space Works Ukraine; Région Bourgogne-Franche-Comté (BFC) & European Committee of the Regions and Région Grand Est (France).

With the opening of this new office, ALDA further reinforces its commitment to Ukraine, a cooperation that has been growing since 2012.

📍💙 More than just a new pin on the map, the Kyiv office is a place for connection, exchange and empowerment, strengthening cooperation, local governance and democracy for the future.

🇺🇦 On the eve of , the European Alliance of Cities and Regions for the Reconstruction of Ukraine held a political-level meeting in Gdańsk. Antonella Valmorbida represented ALDA, bringing our multilevel approach to the fore:

“Resilience and good governance should be built on different layers, creating a community-to-community approach that involves authorities, but also Civil Society Organisations, the education sector, and more.” 📢

The meeting concluded with a Joint Statement by 100 partners, calling for decentralisation, direct funding for local authorities, and stronger dialogue between cities, regions and the Ukraine Donor Platform.

🇺🇦 ALDA is in Gdańsk for the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2026

Our delegation - Antonella Valmorbida, Adrien Licha, Denys Tkachov, Anastasiia Buslaieva and Valentyna Smachylo - has been engaging with governments, municipalities, civil society organisations and institutional partners over these two days, all united around a shared commitment: supporting Ukraine's recovery through strong local governance and genuine international cooperation.

Among the key exchanges:
🤝 With Astrid Kohl and Olena Tomniuk from ULEAD з Європою / ULEAD with Europe, to explore future collaboration in empowering local authorities across Ukraine.
🤝 With Mathieu Mori, Secretary General of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, and Jaume Duch, Minister of the European Union and Foreign Action of Catalonia, on coordinated international support for democratic governance.
🤝 With Sergii Bostan, Deputy of the Chernivtsi City Council, Oleksandr Vasylenko from Українська асоціація районних та обласних рад, and Bastian Veigel, now part of GIZ’s management team, reinforcing the importance of decentralisation and local resilience.
🤝 At the Bridges of Trust stand, with the Director General of Expertise France, representatives of AEGIL, and Viktor Liakh, President of the Фонд Східна Європа.
🤝 And with Jakub Mazur, Vice President of Wrocław, to discuss new avenues for cooperation between European and Ukrainian cities.

Antonella Valmorbida also gave an interview for the Shoulder to Shoulder initiative, reflecting on ALDA’s role in facilitating municipal partnerships that continue to support Ukraine’s recovery on the ground.

🌍✨ Sustainable development in times of crisis!

On 22 December 2025, the LDA Kharkiv Region brought together Ukrainian local authorities, international partners and experts for an online dialogue on community resilience, recovery and sustainable development in war and post-war contexts.

Discussions focused on good governance, community-led solutions, inclusive urban planning and long-term reconstruction strategies.

A big thank you to all participants for sharing insights and commitment to rebuilding stronger, more resilient communities. 💪🇺🇦
