The Environmental Management and Economic Development Organisation (EMEDO) was formed as a response to the environmental, social and economic challenges facing the Lake Victoria region. EMEDO’s goal is to ensure that the contribution of natural resources to the
national economic growth, poverty reduction and peoples’ livelihoods is improved on a sustainable basis through more democratic, open and transparent governance that benefits the communities.
