Katibu wa Mbunge wa Jimbo la Ashiriki Hafla ya Kufunga Mafunzo ya Utengenezaji wa Mifuko Rafiki kwa Mazingira
Katibu wa Mbunge wa Jimbo la Bukene, Ndugu Abubakary Ally, ameshiriki katika hafla ya kufunga mafunzo ya utengenezaji wa mifuko rafiki kwa yaliyotolewa na Christian Education and Development Organization (CEDO) kwa ufadhili wa Colleges and Institutes Canada ( ) kupitia mradi wa (Uwezeshaji Kupitia Ujuzi).
Mafunzo hayo yamehusisha jumla ya washiriki 10, ambao wamepatiwa mafunzo kwa muda wa siku 8 na kupata ujuzi katika maeneo mbalimbali, ikiwemo utengenezaji wa mifuko rafiki kwa mazingira, uandaaji wa mpango wa biashara, utunzaji na uhifadhi wa mazingira, pamoja na usawa wa kijinsia.
Akizungumza katika hafla hiyo, Ndugu Abubakary Ally aliwapongeza washiriki kwa kukamilisha mafunzo na kuwasisitiza kutumia ipasavyo maarifa na ujuzi walioupata ili kujenga fursa za kiuchumi kwao binafsi, familia zao na jamii kwa ujumla.
Aidha, aliwahimiza washiriki kuunda vikundi vya uzalishaji na ujasiriamali ili kuwa na fursa nzuri ya kupata mikopo na programu mbalimbali za uwezeshaji zinazotolewa na Halmashauri, pamoja na taasisi nyingine za kifedha na maendeleo.
Alisisitiza kuwa ujuzi walioupata ni mtaji muhimu wa kujiajiri na kuongeza kipato, huku uzalishaji wa mifuko rafiki kwa ukiwa na mchango katika kulinda mazingira, kupunguza matumizi ya mifuko isiyooza na kukuza uchumi wa kijani.
Kwa upande wake, imeeleza kuwa mafunzo hayo ni sehemu ya juhudi za kuwawezesha vijana na wanawake kupata ujuzi wa vitendo, kujiajiri na kushiriki katika shughuli za kiuchumi zinazolinda mazingira na kukuza maendeleo endelevu.
CEDO inaendelea kuhimiza matumizi ya ujuzi, ubunifu na ujasiriamali k**a nyenzo muhimu katika kuwawezesha wananchi kujenga maisha yenye kipato endelevu.

Biodegradable Plastic Bags Production and Food Security.

Biodegradable plastic bag production can contribute significantly to food security by supporting sustainable agriculture, reducing environmental pollution, creating employment, and strengthening local economies. Food security exists when all people have physical, social, and economic access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food at all times. Sustainable packaging solutions are increasingly recognized as an important part of resilient food systems.
Relevance to CEDO's Biodegradable Plastic Bags Production (BPBP) Initiative
For organizations such as Christian Education and Development Organization (CEDO), the BPBP project demonstrates how environmental conservation, livelihood creation, and food security can be integrated. By training women and vulnerable groups to manufacture biodegradable bags, the project:
1, Generates sustainable livelihoods.
2. Provides environmentally friendly packaging for agricultural products.
3. Supports smallholder farmers and local markets.
4. Promotes circular economy principles.
5. Contributes to poverty reduction and improved household food security.

Biodegradable Plastic Bags Production Training – Day 3 Update

The Biodegradable Plastic Bags Production Training successfully continued into its third day, with participants demonstrating increased confidence and enhanced practical skills.```

The day commenced with a review of the lessons covered on Day Two, allowing participants to reinforce their knowledge and clarify key concepts before proceeding to the next practical session.

Following the review, participants continued hands-on practice in measuring and cutting biodegradable bags using appropriate tools and techniques.``` ```Each participant was provided with an equal opportunity to independently measure and cut a bag, ensuring practical experience and strengthening their technical competencies.

Cross Cutting Issues Emphasized During the Training
Gender Equality and Inclusion:

Promoting equal participation and learning opportunities for women, girls, and all participants, ensuring that everyone benefits from the training.

Environmental Conservation: Encouraging the production and use of environmentally friendly bags, proper management of production waste, and efforts to reduce plastic pollution.

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS): Promoting the safe operation of machines and equipment, the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and the maintenance of a clean, organized, and safe working environment to prevent accidents and safeguard participants' health.

The women and girls participating in the training expressed great enthusiasm and appreciation for the opportunity to acquire these valuable skills. They conveyed their sincere gratitude to the Government of Canada, the Government of Tanzania, College, the College of the North Atlantic ( ), the Empowerment Through Skills ( ) Team, and all partners for their continued support of the Christian Education and Development Organization ( ) in making this important training possible.
