Today, we proudly recognize and appreciate the generous contribution made by Ms. Fransisca Mmari towards supporting a TAWREF project through local fundraising initiative.

Her support is more than just a donation it is a strong reminder that sustainable community development begins with local people supporting local solutions. As a daughter of our community, Fransisca has shown that together we can stand for our vulnerable children and create lasting impact.

The management and staff of TAWREF sincerely appreciate her kindness and commitment. Inspired by her contribution, staff members are also joining the movement to top up support towards this important cause.

This initiative aims to build a safe and decent home for orphans, and we are proud that the Board of TAWREF is at the frontline championing this vision by their contributions as well..

We call upon individuals, friends, stakeholders, and the entire community to join hands with us. Every contribution matters. Together, we can build hope, protection, and a better future for vulnerable children.

Today, the TAWREF team conducted a learning visit to Floresta Tanzania as part of preparations for implementing our Strategic Plan 2026–2030, with a strong focus on climate change mitigation and ecological farming through farmers groups. We gained valuable insights practices that will support our upcoming strategic direction.
We were hosted by Mr. Richard Mhina, Director of Floresta Tanzania, and the visit was attended by TAWREF Executive Director Dafrosa Itemba, EpiC Project Manager Julieth Maina, and Elly Kimaro Vine Trust Project Coordinator.
A productive step forward as we move from planning into action for a more sustainable future.

On Sunday the 26th of April 2026, Stewart will be taking on the iconic London Marathon to raise funds for Vine Trust. 💙

Stewart is running in memory of his wife, Julia, a member of the Vine Trust board and a much-loved and admired volunteer. Julia had worked aboard the Jubilee Hope medical ship three times and had planned two further trips in 2025 prior to her death in May 2024. The photograph shows Stewart about to go on a training run with Julia’s brother, Keith Hamilton whilst on a recent visit to Northern Ireland. 👟

All money raised will go towards the Jubilee Hope Medical Programme on Lake Victoria, Tanzania which provides life-changing free medical care to remote island communities. 🩺

Please join us in cheering him on and consider supporting his fundraising journey:

All the best Stewart! 🫶

TAWREF extends sincere thanks to and Tanzania Solidarity Norway Friends for their initial funding support toward climate change initiatives in the dry areas of Kilimanjaro. These upcoming activities will focus on training farmers in ecological farming, promoting nutritious crops, enabling sinking boreholes, sensitizing communities on clean energy use, and planting trees to transform semi-desert areas into green forests.
We invite more partners and supporters to join us in making Kilimanjaro green again.
