Water is at the center of the climate and  nature crises

In a changing climate, rainfall patterns become less predictable, ice sheet and glacier melt at a faster rate and water related extreme weather events such as storms, floods and drought become more frequent and intense.

All of  these affect freshwater resources available to human, which is 0.5% of water on Earth.

Over the past two decades, the freshwater available per person has fallen by 20%.

But some of the regions of the world are more affected than others, with water scarcity becoming an extremely serious challenge that can create competition over limited resources and ignite conflict.
