Counselors in Action Tanzania The mission of CiAT is to see a Tanzanian society free from psycho-social problems where its members

The NGO aims at:
•Providing counselling and psychotherapy services which respond to the real needs of the members of the community in Tanzania such as school, career, family, and HIV counselling
•Conducting research on counselling needs of various groups of people and providing a tailor-made service to them.
•Responding to crises and traumatic events that occur in the country by providing post-tr

aumatic and crisis counselling
•Offering opportunity for students in counseling program in Tanzania Universities to practice counselling skills and methods in interaction with real clients under the supervision of the counselling professionals.
•Offering short courses on counselling and psychology related issues such as Addictions, Drug Abuse, Trauma and Crisis intervention.
•Developing various learning materials for counselling and training counsellors.
•Providing psycho-education in schools, churches, mosques and public meetings
•Training different professionals and paraprofessionals on counselling skills and methods
•Designing the contents and methods of counselling training courses and programs to meet the needs of different targets groups in Tanzania
• Organizing workshops, seminars, study tours, and other outreach programs
•Establishing and maintaining a counsellors’ directory as well as linking counsellors and potential clients (both individual and corporate) across the country
•Running counselling centers and rehabilitation centers for drug addicts, vulnerable children and people with disabilities.
