Last Friday in Songea, CWMAC convened leaders from all eight Southern Tanzania WMAs — Mbarang'andu, Kisungule, Kimbanda, Nalika, Magingo, Mungata, Juhiwangumwa, and Chingoli — for a zonal meeting focused on strengthening community conservation governance and unity.
The meeting created space for honest discussions on governance challenges, operational realities facing WMAs, and the future direction of the Consortium. Together, members reviewed the draft CWMAC Constitution and the 2024–2028 Strategic Plan, while reaffirming the importance of collaboration in protecting community-led conservation efforts.
More than a meeting, it was a shared commitment to ensuring that WMAs continue to stand strong through unity, accountability, and collective action.
