As I look forward to 2026, there is a lot to reflect on from what happened briefly since June 2025. Due to many commitments and a heavy workload, I couldn't share everything at once, but I learned and grew through ups and downs. These are the blessings I can count from 2025:
1. My role as an education officer and unionist is to be a bridge and problem solver for workers' issues. I chose this path, even though it's the difficult one—focusing on the informal sector (including platform workers) as a major growing and precarious sector.
2. We successfully launched findings with my friend prof collord, who is very passionate about informal transport workers. We are now planning a campaign about GBV in the informal workforce, based on our research. ://lnkd.in/d4NZFHKj
3. We raised awareness of our findings in three regions: Dar Es Salaam, Mwanza, and Dodoma. We hope to reach other regions in Tanzania as well. Seeing the impact of my efforts was a significant milestone in my life and has positively affected marginalized people in our society who have a lot but are voiceless.
4. We brought together 50 women drivers (including truck, bus, tuk-tuk, and motorcycle drivers known as Boda Boda). We trained and engaged with them, listening to their hopes for their careers. It was an emotional experience hearing from women working in male-dominated sectors who are passionate about changing the narrative and moving the world.
5. I participated in several media interviews (radio, television, and podcasts) about workers' rights, especially focusing on youth and women.
6. I attended international events as a board member of the # in # to represent young workers in the board meetings.
7. I signed an MOU with a group of women drivers (including women with disabilities) to join the union.
8. I was part of the panel at the pre-COP - Global South Exchange, organized by COSATU in #.
9. I had enriching experiences in Malaysia and Mexico, which were new and valuable perspectives.
Dear LORD, I am nothing without You. Whatever success I achieved was only by Your grace, which I attribute to my effort and faith in what I believe. I have much to be grateful for, and I know none of this would be possible without the support and trust of people who believed in me. Your support has made a significant impact on my life, career, and every contribution you made—planting seeds of change among many workers
