Tanzania Relief Initiatives (TRI), with support from the Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF), conducted an online capacity-building training for public prosecutors across Tanzania to enhance effective prosecution of Trafficking in Persons (TIP) cases. The online platform provided an opportunity for prosecutors from all regions of the country to participate regardless of their location, as long as they could log in to the training session.

The session focused on strengthening case preparation, improving evidence handling, safeguarding victims, and enhancing coordination with law enforcement agencies involved in TIP investigations.

Facilitating the session, Adv. Edwin Mugambila, CEO of TRI, emphasized the importance of empowering prosecutors, noting that effective prosecution is a strong prevention to human trafficking and vital for ensuring justice for victims.

This initiative supports national efforts led by the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Secretariat and collaborating partners to improve the criminal justice response and protect vulnerable communities from exploitation.

Together, we move closer to ending exploitation and ensuring accountability for traffickers.
